Curves Questions

I have some questions for those that have been members of Curves for at least 3 months. I joined mid January and have done okay. I'm eating heathy and going to Curves, and doing some walking too. But, here's what I want to know:

1. Do you notice a change in your body?

2. Do you notice that it's harder to lose weight on the scale?

3. Do you notice that your body's not responding much because of using the same muscles day in and day out. I know that variety is supposed to be good for the muscles...so I just wanted to know what you guys think?

4. Do you do anything else besides Curves? If so, What? I usually go 4 to 5 days a week, will walk 30-60 minutes 3 or 4 days a week. Should I be doing more?

Please let me know how you really feel about it, because I would rather add more now, then to get a few months down the line and see that I should have done more earlier. This is the first time I've joined any kind of "gym" and I have been enjoying the fact that there is no intimidation. The Curves I joined has only been open since January...so, I'm only seeing people's 1 month results on the wall! I'll continue going...since I joined for a year...but I really want to know if you think I should add something else.

Thanks for any advice!

Gail

Hi Gail.
I have been going to CURVES for almost a year now. It will be one year on February 24 which is coming up this week and I have seen great results. I have lost 25 pounds and 291/2 inches and have gone down two dress sizes. I walk daily and in the summer I play tennis besides walking and going to Curves and that is when I see the best results.

Keep going to Curves and continue to walk and I'm sure you will see results. I will say that I do watch my intake of sweets and potato chips and I drink lots of water. My biggest fault is ice cream - I just can't give this up so I get small dishes or cones. Also, I do not eat anything after 6PM.

Take care now,

I go to Ladies Workout Express, which is similar to Curves. I only do the weights there; I double up on them and skip the steppers in between. Then I do the Nordic Track at home for aerobic exercise. I'm also doing Weight Watchers. I'm definitely seeing results, but it's impossible to know what the results are from. I suspect I need all three aspects (weights, aerobic, and diet.) I'm hoping that the weights will prevent sagging skin, help prevent osteoporosis (family history there), and add to my general fitness. When my year at LWE is up I'll probably switch to the full service gym DH and DS got to.
