Has anyone had the chicken cutlet curry at Katsura Grill? Is it “real” Japanese curry? It looks like it, but it’s hard to discern a flavor profile from the photo. My DD loves Japanese curry and we can’t get it where we live.

My DH lived in Japan back in the day. He likes the curry at Katsura. He usually insists we have lunch there at least once per WDW trip.

It's kinda like a freezer section chicken patty from the grocery store smothered in S&B curry mix. So yes, it's "real". Though some may not consider it good....

LOL, thank you for the description and the warning. DD’s favorite restaurant in Japan was CoCo Ichibanya, the McDonalds of curry, so I imagine she will be more than satisfied with Katsura Grill :). She’s so excited! But I may grab my lunch from Morocco instead, haha.

You know, the teriyaki chicken isn't bad. It seems like steamed chicken (weird, right?) smothered in teriyaki sauce with a side of steamed veggies and rice. It's what the kids and I get when DH has to have his curry.

I have to get it every time we go to WDW. One of my favorite dishes! Is it the best I've ever had? No, but it's a unique option and doesn't leave me feeling weighed down. Not overly spicy.

Sorry, not Katsura related, but I too lived in Japan during my college years and I've found that the S&B curry is pretty close to anything I had as a poor college student. If your local grocery or Walmart doesn't carry it, Amazon does. It's really easy to make at home.

Agree with this. Love the area around Yakatori House, now Katsura, especially the koi pond and gardens. We all got the curry last trip and all of us loved it. It is tasty, light, but satisfying for lunch.
