Current strategy for FEA?

We'll be at EPCOT 2 days. First day is arrival day hoping to get to park by 1pm. Soarin is our main FP as it is a family favorite. Second day is also a late arrival day probably getting there at 3 or 4 to see Candelight processional. That evening we have a FP for test track from 715-815pm. Wondering if our best bet would be to go toward the end of the night on the second night?

Yes, you can do it toward the end of the night. Get there around 8:45 and you should get right on. Or, just get it as a FP+. On your first day, make Soarin' for 1pm, then use the Tier 2 FP+ that you need to use. You can then pick up FEA as a 4th, it's not super hard to do. Alternatively, switch Soarin' for FEA and ride Soarin' at the end of the night, as it's a walk on ride after 8:30pm.

Have had no problems gettin FEA via FP+ the day of, either as first 3 or my 4th rolling.

Would this apply to a busier time such as Presidents' Day weekend too? I am having the hardest time with planning our Epcot FP+s for our upcoming big family trip.

Yes. It'll be busier in general, but you can still do it. Just this summer, we got a last minute FP+ for FEA at 8:00pm on the 4th of July. I think we snagged it at 7:30pm or something like that. From my memory, the standby line was pretty short too, we probably didn't even need the FP+. We've done Soarin' at the end of the night during Thanksgiving or Xmas (forget which) and it was a walk on.

When we were there in October, I saw many FPs for Soarin, but not many for TT or FEA. There were a few, so keep checking as people cancel plans.
