Hello,

With a lot of things being closed (i.e. all restaurants at Jambo, multiple at Boardwalk and Beach Club, Turf Club at Saratoga, etc), if you were planning a 5-night resort only stay without a car, where would you choose to stay?

I would say SSR for DS. But, I am a near park person even if not visiting parks so I wouod choose one of the MK resorts since you have access to all 3 for drinks and food.

I also split stay a lot too for this reason. More access to different areas.

We are at boardwalk for 11 nights and have only gone to the parks 2 days. I would recommend boardwalk simply because you can eat at the restaurants at boardwalk, yacht club, swan and take the skyliner to eat at riveria - which has fabulous options!

We went to Disney springs one night for dinner and it was so crowded that we felt uncomfortable. We haven’t been back :)

We are taking this opportunity to plan a 5-night resort stay in a CCV Cabin, as we've wanted to try out the cabins and figure a resort stay makes the point splurge worth it.

We would also consider AKV, but that's because we could spend 5 days watching animals. ;-)

Otherwise, I'd consider BWV, BCV, or RIV as Crescent Lake is fantastic to walk around and there multi-resorts and thus multi-restaurants to choose from.

We just booked a 4 night this past Sat. for 4 nights in Nov. Funny that you posted this. I have changed our resort/resorts several times. I started out at Poly in a standard view. Then I started worrying about Poly because the construction is starting in early Oct. and the monorail would not be stopping there. I felt like I was torn between a quiet DVC stay there, but not getting the full package so to speak. SO....I then switched to SSR preferred room and requested Congress Park for easy access to Disney Springs. Plus CP has been renovated. Well....I kept checking to see what was available so then I saw that 3 of my nights were available at BWV so I grabbed those and was going to wait list the 4th night WHEN I saw that Beach Club had our last 2 nights. SO......I then booked the 3rd and 4th nights at BCV. So we were split 2 and 2. THEN.......today BLT had our first 2 nights so I then switched to BLT. SO now our split is 2 at BLT followed by the 2 at BCV. The availability changes all day long. I think I am at PEACE with my trip. We don't usually like to do a split with only 2 days but since we are NOT going to a park we though this would be like two mini vacays. We will eat at a couple of the restaurants that are open over by MK resorts and check out the resort Christmas decorations. THEN we will do the same over at BCV and visit Disney Springs.

I‘d probably pick SSR just because I like to walk. I often just take a walk around the grounds, back by the treehouses, or do the loop from one end of Disney springs to the other side of the resort.
I am pretty content with just the pools and disney springs.

The other resort I would consider would be boardwalk, because you can walk across the street to the gas station for water, soda, etc.

I do the same! Love to get up super early before the sun rises, most people & the heat and walk & walk. Best time to explore, get in some walking meditation before you start the rest of your day. Never thought to do a Disney Springs loop! If I'm staying at SSR, I usually just walk over to OKW via the golf cart path for my morning coffee and then back. Will definitely be trying your loop next time, thank you ☺

Our DS had a 4 night stay at SSR, did a lot of walking and enjoyed DS. He was very happy there.

Staycation? You mean a resorts only trip? Staycation is staying at home and doing your vacation in your own hometown. For resorts only, I'd get something close to Disney Springs to give you alternatives for dining. So either SSR or OKW. Now if I had the points, a CCV cabin like Lorana is trying would be really nice.

Consider the monorail loop resorts. Even if you don't go to MK, you can go there and walk over to the buses to catch one to another resort off the loop. You also have boat transportation to the Wilderness Lodge area.
