Does anyone know what the current incentives are for purchasing @ DLR? Are they still offering AP's? Is there a greater discount for SSR vs. AKV? I want all the dirty details!

This is what I was told by a Guide at DLR on Friday, 10/19 (I am already a member but went with my Mom and sister to listen to the presentation and see the models -- which I have never done).

$104 for SSR and AKV -- if you buy 160 points or more they will give you an equal amount of developer points in addition to the current years points. They have a formula where it may be a little higher than 1:1 on developer points -- they are tying it into trading into a 2 bedroom on an II exchange.

The big news is that if you buy your master contract from DLR DVC then you will be in the founders group and have first crack at GC villas -- even before the rest of us DVC folks.

The guide I worked with was very nice and informative and not high pressure. Please PM me if you would like a referral.

Thanks, Lisa, for the info. Was there any mention of free annual passes when you attended the presentation?

I don't remember any mention of free annual passes and I don't remember any incentives like discounts on points either although I saw on some other threads there might be some. I wasn't paying much attention as I am mostly interested in GCV at this point in time.

My Mom and sister got $100 in Disney gift cards for attending because we were staying at the Grand Californian (on my points). That is almost the price of one of the cheaper annual passes!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I was in DL a few weeks ago and received the same response...... "first crack, etc.

Went to WDW last week and met with my guide ( I have been a DVC owner for 4 years) face to face. He denies that there is such a group.... says that it doesn't exist.......

Would like to know the truth

Boy, that would really be rotten if the CA guides are being dishonest about the situation just to get people to buy in now thinking they'll have first shot @ GCV later.

My WDW guide had the same reaction when I first called him to confirm whether the Founding Member program really allows people who purchased their master contracts at DL first dibs when GC DVC become available. He was skeptical but to his credit he said he would check with his sales manager. I ended up speaking directly with the head sales manager and he confirmed that there is indeed such a program. BUT he assurred me that there should be plenty of points leftover after the Founding members purchase the contracts given DVC sales volume at WDW far, far exceeds the sales volume at DLR.

If you want to verify yourself, call DVC information at 1-800-800-9100. Ask to speak to someone who can tell you more about the Disneyland Founding Members program. Tell them that your guide does not think there is such a program and ask to speak to either a Disneyland guide or a higher up who would be aware of *ALL* current incentives at both coasts.

After speaking with a guide at DLR and learning about the Founding Members Progam I spoke with my guide. He also knew nothing about the Founding Members program. He then placed a call to someone in managment and was given the information which confirmed what I was previously told. If you need to hear it directly from your guide to believe it I would ask him to look into it and call you back. He can always speak with my guide, Bruce Douglas, who can update him.

For some reason I can not possibly fathom, WDW guides are not aware of the Founding Members program. How hard is it to send a memo out?

Perhaps they do know, but just don't want to take any heat from upset members. :confused3

I do not believe that my guide mislead me.... he is just unaware..... blame the guys at "the top" for that. I will call him and make sure we have the same understanding.

Thanks... that's why I come to these boards
