I am a DVC member and actually bought into dvc on one of my past cruises. At that time the had special pricing if you bought on the cruise. I know this changes year to year. I was wondering if anyone who has recently cruised went to a dvc meeting and what the were offering. We will be sailing this July and are considering buying additional points/new contract. Thanks

We just went. They are offering the same deal where you get a certain percentage discount based on points bought. Can't remember exact figures, but it was pretty underwhelming. They also offer like a $500 stateroom credit for certain point purchases. I believe 160 was the minimum for any of the deals. Prices just went up last month, or at least that's what they told us. I don't think cruises offer any special deals anymore. If you go to WDW you probably can get the same specials.

Except you won't get the $500 OBC.

True, you don't get onboard credit. But I think that was "up to" $500 based on purchase. Plus we received gift cards with DVC at the parks in the past. Point is, shop around and don't assume cruises have the best deal. They have been underwhelming for some time now.

Last week they were offering about 7000 off the 400 or more points.

Wow. I have to imagine that you can sign a "letter of intent" or something to keep that offer alive past the duration of the cruise. I mean, who goes on a Disney cruise prepared to drop $65000 on DVC points?

That's what credit is for. They are more than willing to charge 10%.

When we purchased. We received two of the Disneyland no blackout annual passes to both parks. Also we received 200 developer points. Plus. We bought in for well under $100 per point.

Again though. This was 10 years ago now.
