Current Disney Cost for VWL, BWC, & BCV?

My wife and I are looking hard at purchasing a park resort and not waiting for BLT. The reported cost seem to keep going up, I realize nothing is set in stone but resale or buying a sold out resort through Disney seems like the better financial choice.

To that end, does anyone have an idea of what Disney is asking for the subject resorts? I put together a little comparison of these resorts in excel (read I'm a dork, ha) but was only able to use approximate ROFR cost per point.

The spreadsheet is below if interested, nothing special.

Pretty sure your years remaining is off. Although the first 3 could get extended like OKW sometime.

I pulled them out of this thread and counted back. The initial term is 50 years, correct?

Edit: The DIS apparently doesn't like tiny u r l. Interesting, anyway just looked at the historical maintenance fees to get the # of years.

BWV, VWL and BCV currently end in 2042. (as do VB and HHI ).

Thanks Bobbi, I guess they didn't have data for the other years. Good to know. I think I found the answer to my question, which is 104/point no incentives.

That is a large penalty for the convience of going through Disney.

After fees, closing costs, fedex, and cost for points, our BWV resale came out to just over 100/per point when it was all said and done.
We paid a premium for a smaller contract, 60 points at the location we wanted most, and we are very happy with the purchase b/c the timeshare store was very good with communication, as was the seller. We would by resale again for the right points, but would also consider going through Disney direct for add-ons as we go forward.
If you are interested in a larger point contract, there may be some advantages to going through Disney direct.
Just some thoughts, good luck.

Its that much? I'm interested as well. If I bought the 150 point BWV (above)for $85 about how much would the rest cost you talked about? TIA.

I have only read closing cost running 400-600 so I be checking back to see the other cost. Fully costed, I would still be suprised if resale is close to what the mouse charges.

Interesting though, can't wait for more info :thumbsup2

TSS states no other fees sans closing???

The last I read current price thru Disney is $101 for VWL and $104 for BCV & BWV.
I also remember one poster (who I think purchased at VWL) report that they did not get charged closing costs by Disney and that Disney is only charging closing costs on current resorts they are selling and not the older resorts.

FYI - we bought 200 pts resale for VWL and paid $550 in closing costs.

Costs to consider.
Maint fees on current year points if applicable. (maint fees on 60 points)
Document fees (i.e. fedex)
Closing Fees(based on number of points)
Price per point (85 to 89.00 range) - like i mentioned above, we were on the high end.
Combined we paid about just over 100.00 per point in total, including all of the above fees.
Hope that helps to clarify things. Again, we were very happy with our purchase, the Timeshare store was excellent, the sellers were great, and i imagine they were happy with the transaction as well.
Regards,
Mike

one more comment...
At the time we made the purchase, AKV just started offering the 100 point option. If we had not made the offer on the BWV, and had not been in process, we might have considered the 100 pts direct from Disney. However it would have reduced the likelihood that we would add-on at BLT or GCV, and the original 160 pt min, would mean over buying for us based on travel every 2 to 3 years to WDW.
We put a premium on being able to purchase less than 160 points; our target contract was 60 to 75 points, so we jumped on the BWV opportunity as soon as it was posted on TSS.
Now we will sit and watch for BLT or GCV, and will probably add on 25 to 50 pts when they are available. Most likely at BLT b/c our trips to FL can be planned 11 months out, and our trips to CA usually are planned 3 to 6 months out.
Our key takeaways...
- buy points where you want to stay
- buy the right ammount of points based on banking and borrowing allowances and number of trips planned.
- Robert at the TSS was very helpful

This isn't really germaine (sp?), but BWV, BCV, & VWL never had 50 years. Even though BWV opened in '96 and BCV & VWL opened in the early 2000s, they were still given a drop dead date of 1/31/2042.

Also, SSR finally sold the last part of the resort as new points in 2008, but those original buyers from 2008 will still have a contract that expires in 2054 (46 years).

Last points we purchased, closing costs were charged to new members, existing members buying a add on got their closing costs waived.

Can a new DVC member buy BLT yet?

Are there models set up of BLT? Someone on here said if you take the tour of AKL/SS, you can be shown a model of BLT?

Thanks very much in advance..

Nope, BLT is unavailable to purchase right now and is still a mystery waiting to be revealed...

The models are rumored to be done, but no one can see them as of yet. I'll be down in late September and we have our fingers crossed we can tour them.

Correct, but this was a new member who reported that Disney didn't charge them closing cost on the older resort. Maybe they just lucked out or had been talking to them prior to the change, but they indicated closing costs were only on the new resorts for new members.

Just something to ask about if you're thinking about buying direct from Disney.

We are on a waiting list to buy points at BCV. We are not current DVC members.
Our guide told us that there would be no closing costs, I asked twice. We will have to buy a minimum of 160 points, and when they become available they will have current year points available, or they won't sell them until the points are available. That is a very different thing than the resale market. Many, if not most of the resale contracts are at least partially stripped. I am watching these as well.
HTH.

The rep who I spoke to said "What is BLT?"

She said it was "all rumor" and nothing confirmed at this time, but " noted" my interest in BLT anyway....

Obviously trying to still sell AKV....

What type of pool is Kidani Village pool? How themed? Did I understand her to say it was more of an interactive kiddie area?

Can someone describe the pool/theming at Kidani Village?

Many thanks in advance!

Just curious as to why you are choosing Disney over resale. If you see a contract that has a current year with the full amounts will you opt to try resale? Did you guide tell you what the cost of the BCV villas will be when you purchase through them and can you get any incentives by using your Disney Visa (assuming you have one!) Thanks!
