IM trying to decide to keep or replace Cape May dinner ADR.

Does anyone know whats currently on the menu?

Do they have steamed clams? Crab? prime rib? chicken?

thanks! neither of them are current, as they dont list crab legs which im told is served.

anyone been recently?

We went last month. You can look up my review. I know dh ate 2 plates of crab legs. I think they had things like pasta, ribs (very good), beef stroganoff. The meat is definetely not prime rib. Its something more like a carved beef. Maybe they call it prime rib.

Yes they have the clams. Also mussels, corn on the cob, baked red potatoes etc. Broiled fish etc.

This one lists crab legs:

We ate there last Thursday night. They had snow crab legs on the buffet, along with mahi mahi, cheese tortilini w/ lobster sauce, seafood "pot pie", peel and eat shrimp, salad fixings, some other pastas, mashed potatos, boiled red potatos, clam chowder and a few other things. Carving station had pork roast and some kind of steak (not prime rib).

Despite the variety of food we were not impressed. The crab legs were dry, the mashed potatos were awful, the steak was just ok, and the clam chowder was too saltly. Plus, "holiday pricing" was in effect, so the bill for 2 adults and a child was over $100. If I had known I would pay $17.99 for my 5 y/o to eat two spoons of mac & cheese, 2 pieces of pizza and an oreo bon bon, I would have said no way.

This is the only meal at WDW that we were completely disappointed with. The food just wasn't that good for the price we paid compared to other places.

would you guys suggest it - or should we skip it?

we wanted to eat by the boardwalk area ... maybe capt grille instead?

Hi
That's really terrible when you pay so much money for food that isn't good. When we ate there in December, the food was delicious. I guess it all depends on the chef that night. We had the most delicious mashed potatoes, and we mentioned it to the waitress and she brought us out the recipe. They were made with cream cheese and sour cream. My friends loved the crab legs and the pasta really wasn't that good. I had pasta at another visit, that was delicious, so I think it depends on the chefs that night. Have a great trip!!

We also ate there in Dec. and absolutely loved it. Everyone asked if we could eat there again this trip, so we are eating there again this year.

I jumped back on here to let you know how wonderful our service was while we were there. I had dripped barbeque sauce on my white shirt from one of the ribs, and my server brought over for me a glass of club soda and then also handed me a Shout Wipe. She was fabulous, and I do realize that you don't get service like that everywhere or everytime but boy she was fabulous!!!

It truly is hit or miss with this restaurant. Some days its good, other days not worth the cost or the time to wait.

I will say that we did not wait long to be seated, maybe 5 minutes? Our server was very nice, but took a while to bring our drinks and clear our plates.

I was really hoping to like this place. :sad2:

Personally, it was a hit for my whole family. And actually it is our big contender for Thanksgiving for next year. The food was very good and we had a very good server. I was really focused on my 1 year old daughter and her needs during dinner that I didn't really have much of a chance to get up and walk around the buffet - our server brought a few items to keep me fed while I was taking care of my daughter. So sweet! :goodvibes

It was a big time miss for my family. We had eaten breakfast there twice and loved it so we fully expected to love dinner but it just did not happen. We waited over an hour to be seated. The entire lobby of the BC was packed with people waiting for their tables. Then the food was just yuck. The crab legs were stringy and stuck to the shells, there were no ribs, the carved meat (not prime rib) was dry, many of the cold items were room temp, the sides were not at proper temp and most were over cooked. It was just bad! The only good part of the entire meal was the Oreo bon bons and min lava cakes.

miss for us ....

ya cant go wrong with clams and crab legs, but the rest of the buffet wasnt good.

for my family it is definitely a HIT :) we have gone there every visit to WDW. We love it, my hubby loves seafood and the boys and myself don't like it at all and we all leave there happy and full. (my 14 year old... extremely picky eater and he even likes it)

We were there last Thursday night. They had steamers, crab legs, fried shrimp, mussels, seafood casserole, mashed potatoes, steamed red potatoes, carved pork and beef, penne in a tomato sauce, chicken, ribs, vegetables, some sort of a beef dish is a sauce kind of reminded me of a pot roast. They also had pizza, chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese I think for kids. Rolls and cornbread, and desserts. To be honest we were there 2 years ago and it was delicious. This time the food was not that great a lot of it was cold. We will not be returning there again.

I generally prefer Cape May to Captain's Grille and would recommend it to anybody who likes seafood and wants to dine at in the Epcot resort area. It's not fantastic, but my family has had mostly good experiences there. It's definitely worth trying.

Captain's Grille is decent, but I'm in no rush to return.
