Current Airport Shuttle Info?

I booked it months before our trip. The rates went up after I had booked. I saw that too and was grateful it was so cheap when I booked!

I believe Lansky’s does
We have used Lansky in the past and have been very satisfied with them except for my last trip September 19 from LAX. I'm still annoyed.
I was travelling by myself and expected to be met in Baggage claim with a baggage cart as usual. When I was surprised not to see anyone and I was just wondering what to do, I received a phone call.
Apparently, he was "unable to park in the parking garage because it was closed" and I was to meet him at the curb. It was very confusing and caused me some worry but after lugging my bags out to the curb, he finally arrived 15 minutes later. I think he just wanted to avoid paying parking fees.
If I'd had the kids and much more luggage, I don't know how I would have managed.
I was also annoyed when we arrived at the hotel and he asked me for his tip.
I am following this thread for other options. I took an Uber returning to the airport for much less money.

I understand using a service or shuttle from LAX, but SNA is so close. Is there a reason people choose not to Uber or Lyft from SNA? That was how we got to DL in 2018 and it was quick and economical. I was hoping to do the same this spring. Is there a reason Uber or Lyft is not a good idea to SNA?

The main risk is surge pricing if there's rain or something. If you're traveling with someone who often misbehaves (ex young children), you may not want to risk the hit to your Uber/Lyft passenger rating. Shuttle services can also give you additional services such as meet & greet at baggage claim, booster seats for children, fancier cars, etc. Other times, people like to book through a travel agent that will get massive discounts on shuttle services or have some other promotional prices. Some people also like the peace of mind of having a reservation in hand. Then, there's the group that don't use rideshare services either because they don't like them or they don't know how.

Ive been checking on different services from recommendations on here and then done my own research...most of the common recommendations are very good but expensive.....I did hear about Midwilshuttle and reviews are good and I got a quote of $105 ea way...so I think Im going to go with them unless I can find cheaper with good reviews because LYFT and UBER are almost just as expensive and I have been hearing some horror stories last few weeks about them canceling people last min

Any recent reports for Shuttle/Taxi from SNA to Grand Californian? I used Karmel two years ago but their price is 4 times what I paid back then & some of the recent reviews are horrid. I'm not Uber/Lyft savvy but reading about their price surges & cancellations I'm thinking I might be better using the Taxi service. I'm curious if they honor the flat rate when returning to the Airport. I'm just a solo traveler so paying over $100 each way for a private car is too much, and double what my plane tickets cost each way.

I pull up the Lyft and Uber apps when I get my luggage, and base my taxi vs ride share at that time, based on the rate. Lyft is fairly easy to find; just follow the signs. It's on the 3rd floor of the parking garage (there's an elevator, so you aren't lugging your baggage up 3 ramps).

I'm a solo traveling woman, and have always felt safe on my Lyft rides. They track the car in the app, and you can select someone to send a link to that allows them to check your ride as well. I just send it to my hubs.

Flat rate taxi works to the hotel, but not back from the hotel. I believe I heard that GCH may have a coupon for a flat rate, though.

We've taken Yellow Cab to SNA twice -- once in September and once in November -- both booked through the app and paid $50 each time.

Thank you both for the responses. Glad to hear the Yellow Cab return to SNA is only a few dollars more than what they are quoting from the Airport to Hotel. I think I may just go ahead & use the Taxi option. I have a few weeks to decide.

We usually drive our own car or have a rental. We are using Karmel for our upcoming trip. We know nothing about tipping. There are 6 of us each with a carryon suit case and personal item. We booked the private van/shuttle from LAX. What kind of tip should we be giving them?

We booked MidWilShuttle for an upcoming trip. Haven't been on the trip yet, but the early communication has been very prompt and friendly.

I usually hear about $2/bag. For 6 suitcases, that would be around $12. Personally I'd bump it up to $15-20+. We've increased our tipping during C19 knowing that there's less customers. Less riders = less tips = tougher to pay bills/housing/food/life. In the scheme of a DLR visit, an extra $20 isn't going to break our budget, so I'm willing to be a bit more generous.

$20.00 is what I was thinking, but I had no idea if that was totally off base or out of touch. I am glad that I was in the ballpark with my own best guess.

I've been pricing shuttle companies for an upcoming trip, and I've noticed several of the websites suggest a gratuity of 15-20% of the fare.

We used Karmel last week from LAX to the Resort Area and back. We bought vouchers through Get Away Today and then called Karmel directly with our voucher numbers to setup our shuttle times, it was super easy. It was a private van service and the drivers were great (they were both 3rd party companies not Karmel branded vans). When we arrived at LAX and turned the phone on there was already a message from Karmel’s Dispatch number and a voicemail and txt from the actual driver giving us instructions. Pickup at the hotel was just as easy, they determined the pickup time and we got a message that morning that the time hasn’t changed and the driver was about 5 minutes early. We would definitely do this again to avoid rental car and parking costs and more importantly having to navigate the drive in traffic ourselves (our flight into LAX put us right in the middle of commuter traffic).

I used Midwilshuttle last week for 3 trips, LAX to Universal, Universal to Disneyland and Disneyland to LAX. I had 1 carry on bag and 1 checked bag and gave a 10% tip for each journey.

I think we are going to go with Midwilshuttle for our trip next month. Do they meet you in the terminal near baggage claim or do you have to go outside and find them?
