Hi, hoping someone can help taking Mum on holiday with us this year (her first time ) thing is she tongs her hair every day but will her tongs work in US i don't think so !
Does anyone know where i could get tongs to take with us ? Thankyou.

I always take my braun independent tongs with me...and even tho youre not allowed to sometimes i even take a spare gas cannister (usually by mistake I take it!) because you cant get any gas in the USA as far as I have seen... otherwise you can go into a walmart of a walgreens and buy some curling tongs. You could take an adaptor with you.. but you may find that they dont work that well with an adaptor.. somtimes they take ages to heat up or dont get very hot!

Hope that helps! :)

You can use an electrical adapter and they will work but FYI you can get the braun cannisters in wallmart or wallgreens. They come in packs of 2.;)

Hiya - leave it and buy cheap ones over there - they practically take a week to heat up!!! Also - with any humidity it really isn't worth it....

My straightners and heated rollers work perfectly in the US but take a little while to heat up. Mind you, with the humidity my hair doesn't stay in style for long:rotfl:

My sis once purchased tongs for $10 in one of the pharmacies, think it was Walgreens, so it's really cheap to buy them.

I bought a heated brush in Walgreens for $7 + tax. Got fed up waiting for mine to heat up. Stays in the case now for any return trips.

Thank you for all your replies. Do you know if publix sells things like tongs, its just that we do not have a car, but do have a half hr supermarket stop with our shuttle on way from airport to hotel?

I think you'd be better off buying cheap ones there- Walmart :thumbsup2 has them for about $20 I think - check the web site -they have online shopping too and they might deliver to your hotel - at least you could check that - don't know if you need a US credit card. Walgreens has them for as little at $10 I think - they also have internet shopping. I live in Turkey and had to pay about $40 for some here and I was so annoyed because I knew how cheap they are in the States. As someone who travels back and forth between Europe and the US a lot I have found that the only dual voltage items that work really well are laptop computers - I have "fried" way too many dual voltage hairdryers etc. If you can buy them there do it - or use cordless gas version.
