Curious? Will you continue to plan future trips?

How will the new price increases/quality decreases affect future trips

  • They won't. We will still go to WDW exactly as planned

  • Eh. We will still go to WDW but for less days, not stay on site, book less ADRs

I agree that the law of diminishing returns is why some people on Disboards don't see value, when obviously attendance would say otherwise. If you buy one hamburger for $10 when you are hungry, you might really be willing to spend it and enjoy every bite. Say you're still not full, and I sell you a second one, and you still eat it, but you are less willing to pay more for it. Disney is like a hamburger that's so desirable that you don't get sick of eating hamburgers, but you still get more value out of the first one.

Of course Disney is worth more to people who don't go as often. That's just the reality of any product or service.

Taking my 14D before she starts HS this fall, will be her 6th WDW/DL trip since age 3 and likely last as she has other trip interests (as does my 21S who got in 5 trips between ages of 4 and 14. Will be my 17th WDW/DL trip since early 70s and also last for a while, as kids and wife are more interested in other US and international trips in the future (have done some of those trips in recent years). Cost not really the issue, but other interests and having seen much of what DL/WDW recently and currently have to offer. Taking first cruise with wife later this year and looking at Europe and Hawaii in coming years, and other US sites. Personally will wait until 2021 50th WDW or later, and with major expansions all complete. After so many visits, and getting older with other interests, seems common to me that many WDW visitors like us looking for other trip experiences, not really linked to costs as all travel is getting more expensive for vacations involving as much as a WDW trip would (including activities, meals etc....)

I'm not sure how it is going to change our plans yet - I need to see what they actually do in terms of "add on" pricing. I can say that it has taken away a lot of the excitement. We were down in January and are planning a trip for September - normally I'm mentally thinking about FP / which days in which parks etc - coming up with a game plan - now I am just not 'into' it - I'm so annoyed with Disney for coming up with (what appears to be ) a million ways to nickel and dime us.

With two kids, we are also facing overlapping private HS plus college expenses the next two years (after which just one in college). But our approach has always been focus on education and family travel over expensive items, house or cars. Plus more costly trips involving flights for 4 including WDW/DL several times, every other year with more regional trips with car travel in the alternate years. We always enjoyed WDW/DL especially when kids were younger, my sister and parents were also often WDW visitors with many trips over the last twenty years (we took my mother with us on four WDW/DL trips after my Dad passed away as she was always up for WDW visit, including 6 months with just me just 6 months before passing unexpectedly).
