Own at BWV but Dec '09 we'd like to stay at OKW in a two bedroom either the first or second week of Dec. Since that is not my home resort do I have a prayer of getting a two bedroom at OKW that time of year? Thinking of making my ressie at BWV for a 2-bedroom at 11 months out to be sure we have a room and then trying to get a 2-bedroom at OKW at 7 months out (would then cancel BWV). Am I approaching this right?

I think you'll be able to get the room at OKW, but call right at the 7-month window. While it may not be necessary to do so, the first to weeks of December are one of the busiest times at DVC properties so it wouldn't hurt.

I think your plan to book at the BWV and then switch to OKW is a good one. Just remember that the OKW room will be less points than the BWV room so plan accordingly (i.e. don't borrow points for the BWV reservation since you'd then be stuck with the extra ones when you switch to OKW).

If you book a 2 bedroom standard view at BWV it will only be 4 points more than OKW. To do that you will probably need to call exactly 11 months out because the standard views at BWV go fast. I think you will get the OKW room. Even if all days aren't available at 7 months, OKW is so big that a waitlist would probably clear.
Another option would be to post on the Rent/Trade Board to see if an OKW owner might want to trade: they make a reservation for you at 11 months and you make one at BWV for them. BWV the first 2 weeks of Dec. sells out quickly, so you might just get someone who would love to trade.
