Hi everyone, hope someone has been through this and could help me out. I was looking to book the Royal Pacific for October for HHN and Nov. for Beerfest. I wanted to know if you do the ressies on-line and give ur credit card number for the deposit, do they charge one night stay right away? or do they not charge and just keep the card number on file just in case if you don't show up and fail to cancel and they want to charge you one night stay?:confused3 Please if anyone out there has been through this, please let me know what the case is. Thanx in advance.

Yes they require a deposit of 1 night plus tax. It was charged to my card right away. You can pay the remainder with a different card once you are there. If you don't show they will charge the original card whatever the cancellation fee is.

Thanx for the quick response.:goodvibes did you book ur ressies on-line or over the phone?

We've never been charged booking through Universal's site directly. Loews site used to charge a deposit. I'm not sure what they do now.

Just booked online through Universal site and the 1 night deposit was charged to my card within 3 or 4 days.

I booked online for my last 2 trips. One was in October the other February. Both trips are now completed. The first one was booked online using Loews and they did charge the deposit. The second trip booked online using Universals site and no deposit was taken prior to arrival.

There has never been any rhyme or reason to their methods and I often wonder what criteria is used for deciding.

That is odd. :confused3 As I noted earlier, we've always booked through the Universal site, & have never been charged in advance.

I have never been charged right away when booking online. That day was just charged during out stay.

That is so odd that we all have had different experiences! lol I used the Loews website to book HRH stays in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. And they never charged my card anything until we checked out of the hotel. :confused3 When I booked for October '07 I called Loews and they charged me one nights deposit.

i always book by phone.

i first check the websites for availability and rates per discounts.
then i call.

i have found availability by calling. website might not have up to date listings.

i pay one night stay in advance and then receive the confirming email within 24 hours when i book by phone.

i know many like to book on line. i just prefer it the other way

It was always like that for me too. But this time I booked online and they did charge my card right away :confused3

are they charging you a deposit or the full amount?

I've also have had different experiences and have used both ways US website and Loews, sometimes they charge it right away, others they never did. I could never figure it out either. I just assume they will charge the deposit and I'm ready for it. They have always just charged the deposit, never the full amount. I think the full amount is for the packages only. HTH:thumbsup2

I booked thru Loews this year and they charged my CC. I think they changed their policy this year, because they definitely charged me.
