Curious - how do TAs deal with opening day?

I'm super curious. My TA is awesome and dealing with my opening day booking for winter 2018 - but I know she has many more clients and it made my head spin with keeping track of so many reservations! How do TAs deal with this? Do they have to sit on the phone and reserve for every single client?

I would assume so. It's what they get paid to do. It seems like a pretty easy compared to a lot of other jobs.

For Platinum, Gold and Silver there is no other way to book/hold the cruises except by being on the phone. The agents will book multiple clients in one phone call so I'm sure they pre-organize what they need to reserve (maybe book the itineraries they think will go fast first or in the order requests were received, however they choose to do it). Sometimes that is the frustration of using a travel agent that has a number of clients. They may make your booking right away but not be able to get the details to you quickly because they were on the phone and made X reservations so now they have to contact X clients to give them the details.

Once itineraries open to the general public, that's no issue as they can book the reservations themselves.

A lot of TAs are not even at home right now to handle Opening Day, and haven't been all week. I know of many, including mine, who are boarding the Fantasy in about 2.5 hours to see the new changes while on the Double Dip.
