Curious, does anyone believe in ghosts?

We have a ghost in our house. I hear footsteps all the time across our wood floor and the silver service rattle (which it only does when someone walks by it). I also see shadows in the hallway at night (nope we dont have any pets that could cause that) and I have seen a dark form in my youngest daughter's room a few times. I found out after talking to neighbors that the last 2 women that lived in this house passed away in the house so I think it is probably one of them. I get a "sense" that the ghost is female and is somehow watching over my children.

My oldest child heard the footsteps noises the other day when she and I were home alone. I hadn't told the kids anything about what I had heard or seen for fear of frightening them. My daughter and I had a discussion about noises that houses make but she seemed convinced that she heard footsteps and the tea set rattle - not house creaking noise. I told her I hear those noises too and think we may have a "guardian ghost" in the house. She seemed to accept that answer and hasnt brought it up again since but she has no fear of being downstairs (where we hear the noises) by herself.

I live in a house with ghosts. I have posted the stories on the dis before about my encounters with them.

If you have not seen a ghost, I can imagine not believing but once you have seen one, there is no doubt.

I saw a ghost as a child and I think that may be key, some people have the gift to see and I think others do not.
