Just curious. In my family I was told ghost stories from a very young age. So I feel they are a part of my being. I feel they are almost certainly real, although there is always room for other opinions. Guess I'm already thinking of Halloween!

yup we live in a haunted house with a couple of cat loving friendly ghosts

I do!! There's tons of sites out there about "real" stories...Google it and see what you find :)

Not a matter of believing, I have seen, so I KNOW they exist.

I have a very healthy appreciation and respect for things I have no knowledge of. ::yes::

I don't think I have the capacity to see ghosts, but two people I love dearly and would trust with my life have seen ghosts in my circa 1870 house.

Do your cats react to entities? One of my dogs really does. Dodger is just very prone to spirits. The other night, we were walking past an old, old graveyard in Salem and something spooked him really bad...I've never seen him that nervous, and then Chris and I both felt the temperature around us drop by about 10 degrees but there was no breeze...

Not ghosts like in Casper, but I do believe that sometimes the dead are "around", maybe to keep us safe or try to communicate a bit.

I just find it impossible to believe that those who have loved us would just "go away" when they die, and never want to be around us again.

Shouldn't have opened this thread right before bed...

I don't think it's up to them. But somehow, traces of energy are sometimes left behind. They seem to effect electronics and are sometimes visible, but I don't think they have actual awareness or control their actions.

absolutely. I've caught quite a few on video camera. I used to ghost hunt in an old building here in Richmond that has had its share of excitement and deaths over the years. I've seen a few in my father's house. I even had one sit at the end of my bed one night and mess with my feet. I felt the corner of the bed go down like someone sat on it, heard the creak that the bed makes when someone sits on it, then felt the covers slowly move off of my feet and something touched it. I jumped and it went away. Saw what looked to be a young woman in her mid to late 20s maybe walking down the hallway wearing a long, red, dress that dragged the ground. Sorta like what women wore back in the old days.

Yep, my family has ghosts that like to pull pranks. It's happened far too many times for coincidence. My Uncle Charley seems to be the one we can identify, and he likes to 'hide' stuff you need.

For instance, you open the fridge to get out a stick of butter-the brand new package is gone. You haven't done anything else, you just walked in to get it. Start tearing the fridge apart, then go to the freezer in the basement and get a pound out. You walk back into the kitchen, and there's the pound of butter, sitting in the frying pan on top of the stove. No one else is in the house.

Yep, that was my step sisters introduction to Uncle Charley! When we can't find something, we always shout "Give it back uncle charley, the game's over" and leave the room. Come back and it's there!

We've never seen the ghosts, but they give themselves away by us smelling something-spaghetti sauce when no one's made it, coffee (for years I didn't own a coffee pot, but the smell was like it was brewing in the same room no matter what house I was in). It gives me comfort to know they're around.
