I was just wondering for everyone that's been on a cruise with there kids or teens what were their crufews for being back at the room if they had any curfews on my two cruises I didn't have a curfew so I could go back to the room at anytime unless it was 5:00 the time I usually come in from partying at home because that is when my dad gets up, I was usually back by 3:30, watched tv and went to sleep at 4:00am

August 19th, 2006 next disney cruise  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :smooth: :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

On our last cruise, my 14 year old didn't have a curfew. She behaved quite responsibly, although on one night she prowled deck 9 at 3 am (she told me this) and was followed around by a security officer. Did you know that the ship has at least one security person assigned specifically to the teens? She even asked the guy if he was following her, and he replied that he was just doing his job. She said "Yeah, and your job is to follow me. Don't worry, I love this ship. I just wanted to see what happens around here at night."

Our next cruise will be much more busy with many more teens....and she will have a curfew....and she will have a hissy fit when she finds out!

yeah I knew there was at least one security person assigned specifically to the teens, found that out the first cruise I went on. I loved being up in the wee hours of the morning when most people were in there rooms sleeping and then waking up at between 12:00 and 2:00 every day and seeing a bunch of people out on deck, that was the best part of the cruise

My teens have had the same curfew on the ship for all three of our cruises as they have at home for weekend nights. They argued that there were activities for the teens starting at midnight or later and it wasn't fair that they could not participate. I really didn't care because we don't sleep until they are in. We were bothered with the fact that they even had activities starting at such outrageous times for kids so young. We feel just because they are on vacation does not mean they get to do anything they would not be allowed to do at home.

My oldest son and I learned about curfews on the last cruise. For the first few night he was home when the stack closed. But on the 3 rd night , I woke up at 3 am and he wasn't back... I went looking for him. He was sitting with a group of other teens on the 6th floor chatting away. After that he had a curfew, had to be back to the room when the stack closed.

My DSs, 13 & 17, did not have a curfew on our cruise. Security speaks with them in the Stack at the 411 the very first day. The fear of God is instilled in them from what I've been told. :worship: We trusted them and felt they couldn't go anywhere. Even if a group of them are sitting and talking in a public area in the wee hours of the morning, what harm is being done? I'm sure Security would be well aware and in control of the situation. We all have our schedules relaxed during vacations, why not let the teens? :confused3 Just because they want to be up late doesn't mean they are bad kids, they are just being teenagers.

Our DD knows that when a teen activity is over at night, she is to come back to our stateroom, no if's, an's or but's.

My daughter will be 14 next year when we travel and I know I will definately not let her be roaming the decks at that time at night. I will give her some freedom within reason and will more than likely give her the curfew of 12 (possibly 1am-I won't know how I feel about that till the time comes).

On our last cruise...our 4th on DCL we went with some neighbors and DDs were out 'till 4:30 one night....same thing they thought they were being "followed" by a CM. I went to guest services the next morning to see if there was a problem and I was told "as long as they are being responsible and not causing any trouble, they will be left alone. Security follows them just to make sure they don't do anything stupid......we have more problems with some adults at 3 a.m. than we do teens...." LOL

I'm 17, and I just went on the 7/2 Magic cruise. My curfew was always a half hour after the Teen dance/event ended at night. So most of the time it was around 2:30ish.
but yeah... I didn't really mind, though, since I did have to get up early on some days for port. The only day that I was late for curfew was the last night, since my friends and I were all saying goodbye (tears, all that stuff...). But I was sharing a room with my 20yr old sister, and she didn't even wake up. :)

As I said above, DD did not have a curfew on our last Magic cruise. This was in part because it was during the school year and there were only 25 teen on board. I know, 25 can make trouble as easy as 250, but I'd met the kids she was with and felt comfortable.

Our next cruise will have many more teens. In addition, she will be going to school within days of our return. Thus, she will have a curfew of 1/2 hour after the Stack closes. I'll feel better and she'll have fewer hours to "reset" between Saturday (when we get home) and Tuesday (when she goes across town and I get to play all day with no kids!)
