Just wondering if anyone has used the Cub's Den for their children while staying at WL.

I'm thinking of putting my dd there for a few hours one night because I'm taking her there "solo" for a short trip in August and would like some "adult" time, even just for a few hours. Do children need to be "fully" potty trained?? Thanks.

Hi never used the daycare centers at WDW. But I do know child has to be fully potty trained.

When my boys were younger, we used the child care facilities at the Beach Club, WL, and the Poly. They always had a good time. The children must be toilet trained and I believe the age has gone up from 3 years old to 4 years old.

We used it in Oct '01. The kids had to be at least 4 yrs old and fully potty trained. That said, my dd 6 yo and ds 4 yo, loved it! The two woman who worked there were young grandmothers themselves. They were kind, friendly, calm and gentle yet definately in charge and fun loving. My two didn't want to leave and wanted to go back the next day. It gave DH and I some much needed adult time:p

I was so glad to see these comments as we are planning on having our sons (4 and 6) go to the Cub's Den one night so DH and I can have an adult meal. We've never left them in this type of situation so I'm glad to hear it sounds like they'll be in good hands. From anyone's experience, what do the ages tend to be there? I'm wondering if the 4yo is going to feel intimidated if he is surrounded by "big kids". Also, is there a certain time they show movies? There are some things we wouldn't want the 4yo to see (he's prone to bad dreams) and I was hoping that maybe the movies started a bit later and we could get him out before they begin. Or do they tell you what movies play? Sorry for all the questions! I really want it to be a good experience so we can do it again on future visits. Thanks for any help.

I can't remember what movies were shown, I think it was G rated Disney movies, but you will have to ask. When we were there, the kids were of all ages. The wonderful women who worked there informally had children of similar ages working on crafts together or doing activities together. My ds, 4 at the time, played some with the "bigger boys". He was thrilled to be included with the "big kids". The pager they give you also made me feel more secure. I highly recommend the Cub's Den.

Thanks to all that responded. Sounds like dd would have a great time, she loves older kids too. Although almost 4 I'm having such a tough time with the potty thing and really HOPE she'll be FULLY trained by then. Guess, we'll just have to see. If not, then we'll have to try it next trip after.

Also good to know they give you a pager, great idea. Does anyone know what food they have for dinner? I read something about pizza and hot dogs, my dd only will eat chicken, can I bring something for her or do they strictly stick with what they offer? (as to not disappoint any other children)
