Cuba or Dominican Republic *updated could be Jamacia *

Friend of mine went to Jamaica and hated it, tho i guess you have to take anyone's accounts of any holidays with a pinch of salt, after all there are some people who've probably hated WDW ;)

:goodvibes

wonder why they didnt like Jamacia . I know some people have moaned because of the pushy people on the beaches. Trying to sell you drugs or merchandise.

I think that is quite common at a lot of the Islands, my parents said that in Cuba they would leave you alone once you said no.

I haven't been to Cuba or DR, but would personally choose Cuba.

I have been to Jamaica, a few years back we went for New Year and first two weeks of January. The weather was pretty bad...it rained a lot!
We stayed at the Beaches Boscobel resort in Ocho Rios and I would never go back. It was the worst holiday we have ever had! The staff were rude and unhelpful, the food was awful and we didn't feel safe to go out of the resort.

Also a plus point of Cuba is to see it now, before the almost inevitable end of communism and the start of a McDonald's on every corner, whereas now there's only one McDonald's on the whole island - can anyone guess where ;)

Oh dear Jamacia isnt sounding that great. I went to Barbados in 98. I agree when you say no they leave you alone. The best beach I have ever experienced was Playa Car Mexico. Now I would go thier tomorrow. Apart from now the beaches are suffering with erosion! I am finding it hard finding somewhere that compares to the beautiful beach I saw which is within budget of £900 per person. Thats our top end of the budget.

Ohhhh.... Thought I got somewhere lol. The pictures make Negril look beautiful.
