Hi from SE CT - Mystic. I think I am too far away from you to meet, but I am heading to the World in about a week! My sister (lives in Griswold) and my DD5 are going down to meet my parents for the F&W Fest. They are snowbirds (also from Mystic) but live in Naples, FL in the winter . They just survived a direct hit from Wilma (very shaken, but okay). Where is Burlington? Let me know if you are planning a Dis meet in CT!

Mystic is about a n hour from where we live...we have taken the kids there and our friends parents have a house there and we have been there in the summer time..not to far...

Burlington is about an hour from where I live. I have driven that far for DIS meets in MA.

Foxwoods??? I haven't been there in a while. I know my DH loves to go there and Mohegan Sun.

No plans this year to go to WDW. We just remodeled our kitchen. Plus my youngest is almost 2 and I think we may wait another year to take her for her first time. Then again I am not sure I will want to wait another year to go, it has been 2 years already since the last time we went.

Avon I grew up in farmington...do you by any chance live in buckingham in avon our friends just moved in there and it is the newest sub division there...????


We shoudl try to arrange a little meet??Do we want to do families and all or just couples...
Foxwoods is not really for kids though..

We moved from CT to FL about 18 months ago! We will be back in CT for a visit Nov 18-25 for DH's DD's wedding. Brrrrrr! If you schedule a meet during that time we will try and make it. We will be staying in Westbrook at Water's Edge while we are there. Also would love to meet any of you who come down to WDW, or any of the other Orlando parks for that matter. We have AP's for WDW Sea World and Universal and go as often as possible. After all, besides the weather, that is why we moved here!

I give thanks for DH's great retirement plan and to the (not so) honorable former governor John Rowland for the buyout he offered to the top tier state employees to retire early to help him balance his budget! That's why we are able to be here. Of course for the last 2 nights the temps have been in the 40's! Still, we love it here!

We are familiar with Water's Edge and are looking forward to staying there. Only problem is - the wedding which was supposed to be in Branford just down I95 is now in Bristol! Oh wait, not a problem! The distance will keep us out of range of DH's 2 overstressed about the wedding DD's! The one getting married is overplanning tremendously and will, I'm sure, spend the week before the wedding fighting with her twin sister. I'm gladwe will be some distance away from that!

We moved to FL from Wallingford so we will be spending a lot of time with friends there. While it will be good to see our friends again, it still is not the same as it was when we lived in CT and the trip planning I got to do was for trips to WDW! I mean, hasn't it snowed for a lot of the recent Thanksgivings in CT????I am so not looking forward to that!

I know the fun of planning the trips is half of the fun..But maybe soon you will have grand children that can come to WDW for visits..

Kritter, I just noticed the pic of your twins in your post. They are really cute! They look just like DH's twins did when they were that age!
DH is also a twin, and now we have cats that are twins!

RE the cold, snowy Thanksgivings - I remember them all too well! We saved some warm clothes for trips north that we knew we'd be making and we'l be leaving our shorts, tees and flip flops here. Believe me, we would not be coming north during the winter if terer were any way we could avoid it. We have had enough of winter! That said, can you believe I loved to ski when I was younger?

The DD that is getting married lives just behind ESPN in Bristol, but I doubt we will spend much time up there. She wants to come spend some time with us at Water's Edge. I'm not sure where the wedding is. I do have directions. It's some small chapel she found not too far from her house.

The one thing I can say about moving to FL is to plan your retirement well. Fortunately, DH did that when he was younger and now I get the benefits!

I doubt we will get to meet you on this trip, but if you come down here to visit the world send me a PM and maybe we can meet then.

sorry it took so long to get back to you...with halloween and all..
sounds like the weddng will be a blast..We used to live behing ESPN when we first got married in a condo...

We try and go to disney at least once a year if not more harder now with the twins...
keep me posted on the wedding would love to see pictures of it....

Hmmmm, DSD is in a condo behind ESPN, but I can't remember the name of it and neither can DH. It's a 2 br townhouse style, dark brown wood with a soccer field out back on the other side of the trees behind her unit. Wonder if it's the same place.

Yes, we are packing warm clothes. It has not taken me long to get used to FL weather.

If you want, I'll PM you some wedding pics. Maybe that's how we should be talking anyway since we seem to have hijacked this thread!

We lived in the yellow ones that were called forest glen...Sounds like she lives close to where I lived a while ago....over six years now...

I would love to see the wedding pictures...Hopefully the weather will hold out for you..It has been rather warm and nice the last few days...
