CSR vs POP for Sept 2016

We are trying to decide whether to stay at POP or CSR. My thinking is that if free dining comes out then it will be the same or close to the same price to stay at CSR as it will be to stay at POP and upgrade the dining. I'm nervous about CSR being spread out and the many bus stops verses POP having dedicated buses. We are looking at Sept 23rd-Oct 2nd. 2 Adults and our son who will be 6. I've been reading lots on these boards and online. any thoughts or suggestions

Since your major issue is transportation ............... CSR has some of the best transportation on site. It does not share. It is centrally located so no long rides at all to parks. There are four stops, 3 by the rooms and being a convention resort you have less guests using the buses during the day. We have never waited long, had to stand or had any issues with the bus system.

CSR is not the most spread out resort and our favorite rooms are at the back not far from themed pool or bus stop. Theme pool is great with quick service right there along with bar, playground, arcade and awesome pool slide. Our whole family LOVES CSR!

I agree with this. CSR has by far the best bus service i've ever experienced. We never waited more than 5 min, and we never had to stand! Not even after wishes! imagine that!?

These happen to be two of my favorite resorts! CSR as others have said has excellent transportation. You'll have more amenities and dining choices. The resort feels very secluded away from the crowds.

That said, unless you are prepared to pay the difference I would book Pop. I always book the room with the rack rate I can be happy with. Discounts are not as set in stone as they once were. Now I can tell you that CSR seems to be the mod with the most available discounts and easy enough to snag a standard room discount vs just the higher priced view rooms. It also does not take families of five which cuts out a lot of people from the discount pool. But until the discount comes out I generally go with the cheaper resort.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

I do like Casitas 4 and 5 locations as well, however. Casitas 4 is especially well located and not far from Anything, IMO.

It's one reason I love CSR - the three very different very distinct themed areas of the resort. Each one looks completely different, with different vibes and appeals to all different guests. I have stayed in all three and know Ranchos is my home base. I just love when resorts have different "lands" like the parks. Not many do. Always loved POR/FQ and the three areas and the great backstory there. Wish Disney did more of the creative stories to explain their resorts.
