CSR vs Dolphin

You could look at some menus and figure out if the dining plan would be the best value for you- I am getting a TIW card with my AP so we will actually do better that way; I like a drink with dinner we often share appys and skip dessert or share one between all of us, so the dining plan doesn't
Work that well for us.

It doesn't work for us either. I sat down with the calculator and figured out that unless we order the most expensive things on the menu that it doesn't make sense for us. That and then feeling like we had to plan our days around eating. We don't go to WDW for the food.

It only works for us because we do a few character buffet meals. Those are more expensive (vs the amt of food that we eat there) than I'd pay for for a 'normal meal' so the ddp helps me feel like I can do it. I'll look in to the TIW card though. My mom is a Fl resident who may be joining us for a bit so I looked into it and it won't work. CSR it is! and we'll save S/D for next time!!

Sorry it didn't work out for you.:sad2: I went through all our numbers last night, and even though we'll spend a bit more (about $50) on food/beverages than we would with the DxDDP, the overall savings of choosing the Dolphin over the BWI comes out to just under $550! My costs for food even with a dining plan are quite high because of where we choose to eat, plus wine/drink costs. (Think adult trip here!:thumbsup2) Unless I get a PIN of at least 35% off room only, it's Dolphin for us. Even if they offered Free Dining for our travel dates, it doesn't make sense for us. Since it's just two of us and we would have to upgrade to the Deluxe plan to do what we want to do (all Signature dinners, TS lunches & Snack Credit breakfasts), the savings from free dining isn't a great bargain for our circumstances.

I agree with this. We don't eat dessert with every meal, so the savings is not that great for us.

rie'smom, thanks for the link. I was just on hold with CRO for nearly 30 minutes and the woman who 'helped' me had no idea what I was talking about with the teacher rate and assured me that everyone she asked had never heard of it either and wanted to know when/where I'd seen it. I'll check the link and see what it has to offer in the way of info. Thanks again!!

I think you have to call the Dolphin rather than CRO to book that.
