First let me preface this, that although we arrived home after a week of rain last evening, this is not a "sour grape" opinion. We enjoyed our time, and CBR is a lovely resort. Well, we have been coming to WDW so many times a year for over 30 yrs and we were willing to try CBR. Coronado was booked (which is our favorite..next to Old Key West). Having been to the Caribbean this summer were willing to try. We were in CSR in April and last Nov and were so sorry we were not able to book a room this time. Here is my comparison, for those who may be looking for one:
- CSR resort's Pepper Market has table service for your drinks and a welcome when you arrive...CBR does not
-CSR has more choices in the bakery and does offer a Coffee Bar ... CBR does not
-CSR does not offer an internal bus to get around..CBR does. We stayed in Aruba at CBR and it was a long walk for a snack unless we took the bus. At CSR we walked from as far away as Casitas 5 and it was not that bad. I must admit that staying at the Rancho's would be a hike.
-CSR has an inside lounge bar with pub snacks...CBR does not
-CSR and CBR both have poolside bars ...both have a sit-down restaurant
-CSR has a larger gift shop
-CSR's Pepper Market has a larger selection of food choices
-CSR Snack Shop (La Tienda) is smaller... CBR is larger but does not carry pre-made sandwiches only Snackables (PB&J)
-CSR has a lobby larger and we missed the fountain!
-CBR Wins on the rooms. You have a double sink, a bench with large drawer for storage, a coat rack with several hooks. All of these things are not in CSR rooms (at least in those we have stayed in Casitas and Cabanas). So, if that is what you are looking for... the CBR rooms will be a perfect fit. Both room sizes are camparable and the mousekeeping at both is great.
I have to conclude by saying, it is a lovely resort, beautiful, the internal bus service is great to move people around. Everyone was friendly and accomodating there.
You must keep in mind that CSR has a convention center and it can get busy..we never seemed to mind.
We did not see any surrey bikes or paddles boats being used while at CBR.... again the rain may have been an element there. There are no complaints to where we stayed. .. it just was not CSR... our favorite moderate at WDW. I hope this helps anyone who may be sitting on a fence to decide.
