CSR - Rancho section - positives please ?

I know the CSR Rancho's are the longest walk to the Pepper Walk.
But....
Please tell me some positive thoughts and benefits to the Rancho section.


How is the quiet pool ?
Closer to the Dig Site pool ?
Near any snack area?
Better bus stop to the 4 main Parks ?


Please tell.

We were in Ranchos 3B 2 years ago today and its a great location. We were less than 5 minutes to the Dig Site and only minutes to the bus stop. I was leary at first after reading OP's reviews, but that was quickly forgotten as we loved our room location.

Another Rancho fan here!!!! We requested it for our last stay, and it was granted.....not that we had any doubt that it would...... We loved the theme - loved the same things the pp stated - lovely walk in the mornings and at sunset to/from El Centro, and we never felt it was that far, I liked the quiet pool better than the other 2 sections and it was never busy during our stay, very quiet and relaxing!!! We had great cell and wifi access - didn't experience any problems with those as I've read some reports that have.

We stayed at CSR our first trips and loved Ranchos 7B with a water view. Quick walk to the main pool, quite pool right outside our door. It was perfect.

That said we had a rental car and it was a quick walk to the parking lot. We didn't care about the Pepper Market because we would drop by the main building on our way back from the parks... in our car.

When we went last June we had requested a room in the Cabana's section close to the main building, but ended up with a room in the Rancho's section building 7b facing the Dig Site. We were kind of dissapoited at first because we had heard that the Rancho's is the last section you want. We ended up being fine with it. We were close to the Dig Site, close to a bus stop and it really isn't that far to walk to the main building. if we would stay at Coronado Springs again I wouldn't care where we stayed.

We've stayed in the Ranchos section several times now. It is a long walk from the Pepper Market, but I've come to like the Ranchos section. The landscaping is very pretty. The Dig site is close by. The quiet pools are very nice. Bus stops are convenient. Not getting a preferred room saves some $$.
We've stayed in the Cabanas section a few times too, also very nice. I'd be happy with a room in the Ranchos

I loved Ranchos. The walk to the Pepper Market was long but the bus stop was 2 minutes from our room and the quiet pool even closer. And even if it takes several minutes to get to El Centro it is a stunningly beautiful walk. My favorite resort!

Another Ranchos fan. A bus stop was literally out our door and I didn't mind the walk to El Centro. When we were there you could just hop any theme park bus if you didn't feel like walking to the main bldg it stops there on the way out. The DTD bus can get you back to your section

Theme park bus stops go in this order:
The bus stops are:
Bus Stop 2: Casitas
Bus Stop 3: Ranchos
Bus Stop 4: Ranchos and Cabanas
Bus Stop 1: El Centro

DtD and Exit buses
The bus stops are:
Bus Stop 1: El Centro
Bus Stop 2: Casitas
Bus Stop 3: Ranchos
Bus Stop 4: Ranchos and Cabanas

I just booked CSR for 9/9-9/15 but haven't put any building requests in yet. When you all say "long walk" what would that relate to time wise? I have stayed at POR previously in both Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou and didn't think it was that bad of a walk but you could cut through over bridges and such. Last year we stayed POP and I wasn't a big fan but more of the busses. Plus I think the only reason we ate/drank more at the food court was because you have to cut through to get to the bus stop. Any help is greatly appreciated... such a difficult decision!

We have teens - so no problem on a long walk for food - as long as they can get to the 'dig site' to swim fast

The difference here is that there are no bridges to cut across. You have to walk around the lake to get to El Centro and there's no way around that. If you plan to eat in the food court a lot, its not the best location for that.

We'd asked for Casitas, which we've stayed in before, but were put in Ranchos 6 last year. It was actually a good location. Close to the pool, which we used each afternoon, not too far from the bus, and a small hike to the main building.

We stayed in Ranchos 6B once. The first morning I made the mistake of walking around the lake to get coffee. The next day I realized I could cut through the pool and over the bridge. It wasn't a bad walk at all and it was close to a bus stop.

Hmmm maybe I will just let the "Disney" Gods decide where we stay. I have heard that there are cms with golf carts too that will take you around if need be. More concerned for my 70 yr old mom than me. Plus there is coffee in the room...so no need to take a long walk in the morning! Thanks for all the help!

I think the golf carts are gone - at least for guest rides.
The previous post said you can take the DTD bus from the Rancho's and get off at the main building for food, gift shop and guest services.

Why not add an area request - like a room close to the food court, if you have a 70 year old young lady with you? I bet they will accommodate the request.

We have only stayed @ CSR once, in September 2011 and we actually requested and received a room in Ranchos 7B. We had a lovely corner room by the quiet pool and laundry room. We used the quiet pool a LOT at night, and it was a quick 2-3 minute walk to the main pool/dig site area. It was about a 15-20 minute round trip walk for us to the main building and back if we needed anything, but I didn't mind... it's a pretty walk! One other positive about that location was that we were close to 2 bus stops (typically picked up the bus by the Cabanas, as it was a little closer), and we also found our location to be rather quiet. I don't know if that is because most folks don't want to stay in that section or what exactly, but we are sold on the resort and area.

I just made our reservations for our September 2013 last night; we are returning to CSR and put in a request to get a room in 7B again. Hope the Disney Gods are smiling on us in a few short months.

While CSR is awesome, I'm not a fan of the Ranchos, stricly because its far from the main bldg. But honestly thats the only drawback..

It's the best themed bldg out of all 3 IMHO, the grounds are beautiful. Sooo close to the main pool & to its bus stop...

I enjoyed Casitas 3 but the bldg was just ordinary...compared to the ranchos..

When we were there you could just hop the Downtown Disney bus if you didn't feel like walking to the main bldg it stops there on the way out

Actually, the Downtown Disney buses stop first at El Centro, then casitas, then ranchos, then cabanas. You can get on any park bus at the ranchos stop and ride it around to El Centro. If you get on a DTD bus at ranchos, you are going to DTD.
