CSR or CBR?

I am looking into our holiday for next year. My husband would like to stay somewhere different. I've looked into Boardwalk but it just seems so expensive. Any comments would help as I have not been to CSR or CBR.

Thanks,
Patti:goodvibes

:goodvibes CSR hands down! Less crowded buses - better pool w/ slide - better layout and then there's BUZZ2001~!

CSR is my family favorite! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. CSR has newly renovated rooms, queen beds, full menu room service, a terrific main pool area and great transportation that is not shared with other resorts. They also offer a spa, salon, fitness center and more.

Pick which theme you like best and which resort amenities meet your family's needs.

I have never been to CSR, but I LOVE the CBR. We never had any problems with crowds, busses or anything. We loved the food court, and really LOVED the pirate themed pool. I thought the grounds were absolutely beautiful. We had a water view room next to the food court (it was worth the extra money)!!!!!!

Buzz,
Thanks for the reply, we are not so much into a theme, but my husband does like a place where he can relax when we are not in the parks, CSR looks like that..any room location recomendations from you?

Thanks,
Patti

CSR is the only one we've stayed at...and we won't leave it. It is our favorite (and it was our boys favorite when they were younger and teenagers for the pool. Now with the added new queen beds (no more full beds) and the new room rehab, we may just move in! :goodvibes

I'm a huge fan of CSR. I've stayed there once and was really impressed and that was before the renovations. Now I see CBR is also being upgraded and it makes me wonder....hmmmmm....maybe next trip we might try that one. I'm liking the looks of the pirate themed pool for the kids. I have a feeling you can't go wrong with either one. Sorry, I guess this doesn't help you decide!

Personally, we much prefer CBR. It has a bright, fun, tropical atmosphere. There are now pirate and nemo themed rooms, and the main pool was just recently renovated. If you're not on the dining plan, it'll cost you much more to eat at CSR than it will at CBR. Overall, CBR just feels more like "Disney" to us than CSR does.

I picked CBR over CSR. CSR just doesn't seem to have the "Disney touch," since it is a convention resort. I figure if I'm paying good money to stay on Disney property, then I deserve to feel like I'm on Disney property. :lmao:

Cool you're leaving one day after us (we're staying at CBR too)... And wow, this is your first trip to WDW... You're absolutely going to love CBR... We've stayed at all of the moderates and one of the values, and CBR has been the best resort in our opinion! Have a great trip.

Stayed at both and both are nice. But I think CSR is a nicer resort.

We have stayed at both and really prefer CBR! :thumbsup2

We love how it is so spread out, lush, beautiful, and relaxing. The new pool is huge and offers zero entry and 2 slides. The children's pool is pirate themed and has a tipping bucket and 3 slides. The CM's are so friendly and helpful and the food court is big and very good. The rooms are larger at CBR.

DH and I enjoyed one evening on our recent trip on a hammock by the lake watching IllumiNations. :cloud9:

It's definitely our favorite moderate! Here's my recent review with lots of pics ~ http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2074555 :goodvibes

CSR!! We love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR offers a spa, salon, full menu room service and fitness center not to mention a terrific main pool area and the best transportation that is not shared with any other resort. It's like taking two vacations in one. CSR offers queen beds too!

I have stayed at both of them more than once. They are both very nice. I have to say that I prefer CBR though. I'm leaving for there in just a few hours!!

Stayed at both . Both are gorgeous. If you stay at CBR ask for a preferred room. $15 more a night and definately worth it! Resort is huge! If you choose CSR ask for bottom floor or to be close to elevator unless you pack ultra light or have magical express. Csr now has queen beds and new rooms, great pool, CBR also newly renovated, double beds. waterslide is great atCsr, haven't stayed at CBR since renovations, but pirate theme looks great. Both cs meals are great. Bus service good at both, both resorts have stops at each section. Go with theming you like best and have a wonderful trip!

I don't think the renovations are finished at CSR, but are almost done at CBR, but by the end of the year all should be done at both resorts.

I think it's all a matter of personal preference. I don't think one is inherently better than the other. Before the renovations, I preferred the theming of CBR (when I booked my January trip, CBR wasn't available). But now it's less enticing for me - I'm not crazy about either the pirate or the Nemo theming. I don't have to worry about kids enjoying the pool (I'm the mother of a grown daughter.) I preferred its look when you could feel like you were in the Caribbean.

And that's what I like about CSR - it doesn't scream "Disney". It's more "adult" to me. The conventions didn't bother us - in fact, some of them were fun. There was a country line dance competition when we were there, and we saw lots of folks walking around in their costumes - boy are they elaborate! Even people in suits or business casual don't bother me - I'm on vacation!

Does this work for everyone? No, but it works for me. Do I look down on those who don't like CSR or prefer CBR? No - different strokes.

Would I try CBR? Certainly - never stayed there and have nothing against it. But I liked CSR so much that right now, that's where I prefer to go.

We are also in the same dilemma. We have already been to POFQ & are now planning our trip w/ our DD for her first time. She will be 2.
We like the new CSR rooms. But we think CBR has a much nicer pool & splash pad for the little ones.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
