Hi,
My FI and I are trying to decide between Coronado Springs and Carribbean Beach for our honeymoon. What are the pros and cons of each? Ease to get to food courts, bussing, etc.
Thanks so much for your help!

Oh, should we book the hotel soon and then if there is a package special, cancel our original reservation? Any help would be soo appreciated!

TIA,
Tasha

I prefer Coronado Springs for two reasons - the restaurants (both Maya Grill and Pepper Market) are better at CS than CBR. And the pool - it's awesome!
When are your dates?

Thanks for your quick reply, we are going from 5/1-5/7/06.
We are feeling overwhelmed between planning a wedding and a honeymoon. :earsgirl:

Having stayed at both CSr and CBr, I can tell you they are both great resorts and I would recommend either one. On that note, CSR is our favorite! We honeymooned there last year and had an amazing time.
We feel CSR is more relaxing and peaceful than CBR. The Pepper Market is awesome and way better than the food court at CBR. The pools are definitely better than CBR's.The buses at CSR are great-we rarely waited for one for any parks on our last 2 trips and we found they werent as crowded as we remember CBR's being.Lastly, we were treated wonderfully on our honeymoon at CSR so we are biased! Now this was just a little pixie dust that came our way, but we were upgraded to an amazing water view of the lake for free when we checked in, we arrived in our room to find balloons and a card signed by Mickey and Minnie, and we were also given cards for discounts at the Maya Grill and the Spa at CSR.
Anyway, highly recommend CSR!
Congrats!!! :Pinkbounc

I haven't been to CBR yet (will stay there briefly next month) but I have stayed at CSR and I think it's a beautiful resort and has many pretty and romantic spots to sit and enjoy the landscaping, the water and even see a glimpse of fireworks.

I'm sure both would be great - but I know I would have loved CSR for my honeymoon.

We have stayed at both and prefer CBR. It all comes down to the theming that you like better.

We loved CBR because we felt like we had truly escaped to the islands.

We didn't like the Pepper Market at CSR with the mandatory 10% tip for seating you and bringing you your drinks.

You can't go wrong with either resort. You can also view the Epcot fireworks from the beach at 9 PM at CBR.

CSR!! Check out my website below for reason why!!

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

Like Safetymom, I prefer CBR for the theming. But we always go to the Pepper Market at least a few times while we stay at CBR, it is a super short drive from CBR. We usually drive to alot of the other resorts for lunches and dinners and well. :flower:

I have not stayed at CSR, but have at CBR. I absolutely loved it. The rooms are a tad bigger at CBR than at CSR, each village at CBR has its own quiet pool, as well as a main theme pool next to the building that houses the food court and restaurant. I felt like I had truly escaped to the islands, and my only regret is not spending a "resort" day to recharge and take advantage of more of the resort's amenities.

Anyone got any more pictures of the CBR? Im staying in Aug. and Im looking for really nice pictures of it to impress my parents.

Because CSR is a convention hotel, it is a bit more adult oriented. I generally find there are fewer small children at CSR than other resorts. This is why I prefer it. I have pictures and videos on my website.

I have never stayed at CSR, but I did like CBR. I don't think you can go wrong at any on-site resort. There all top notch and beautiful.

CBR is so pretty and the scenary is just amazing.

We have stayed at both and we love CSR the best. Everything about the
is great and we will definately be going back again.

CSR is my favorite out of the two-

if you like a tropical theme (like at CBR), the cabanas section of CSR reminded me very much of CBR.

I will give you my opinion....we just returned from a 4 night stay at CSR...we stayed at the CBR on our honeymoon 12 years ago. Being the resort junkies we are...we always visit a resort on our "off day." We decided to visit the CBR since it was our honeymoon resort and we hadn't been there since then. Here our my thoughts....CSR is very, very romantic....CBR is very run down (when we went on our honeymoon it had just opened so I was new), this might be minor, but the bathrooms were in desperate need of a cleaning (disney bathrooms are usually immaculate).....the food court was a mess, the bus transportation, which we used to get there and to MGM studios and back to CSR was horrible, let me say that again, horrible...the worst bus service ever! And I've stayed at almost every resort on property. It was extremely overcrowded and crazy is the only way I can describe it. The bus driver was getting angry at some of the guests (I've never seen that before). I looked at my DH and we were like, we would never stay here. CBR needs to be renovated bad! We were so glad to get back to the peaceful and beautiful CSR. CSR bus transportation is the best. We never waited more than 5 minutes and the buses were empty. CSR is absolutely beautiful when the sun goes down. If CSR was built when were getting married, we definitely would have stayed there! GO to CSR!

I have never stayed at CSR, but we love CBR. We love the tropical themeing, sandy beaches with hammocks, the peaceful walkways, and the friendly ducks. We love staying in Jamaica and walking over the bridge to the food court and the main pool. We like the variety at the food court, and we have always had great bus service. Good luck with your decision!

1995 - CBR
1997 - CBR
1999 - POR
2003 - CBR
2005 - CBR (June 22nd thru June 30th)

CBR was renovated and reopened at the end of 2003. The resort was totally shut down while the work was done.

I have stayed at both resorts. I am also trying to decide which resort to pick for my solo week in September. My main problem w/CBR is the Custom House. You check in and out at a separate building and get pciked up by the shuttles/buses at this building, which doesn't have enough waiting/seating room for all the people being picked up. But, I do like the CBR; however, I will probably go with the CSR this fall. I CAN imagine the hassle witing for the Magical Express to pick up people for the trip back to the airport.

SafetyMom----Have you heard how well this has been handled at CBR???
