CSR getting queen beds??

Someone wondered if the room rates will be going up because of the queen beds-thats like asking if the pope is catholic. I bet the answer to both if a yes!!!
The rates are already posted for 2009 and the answer is no. Sorry :upsidedow

CSR just rocks!!

I wonder how much will be done by our Feb trip?

I must say I don't care for the comforters there. I wish they would get new ones.

Well be there for our first big "family" trip this December and I'm very excited to hear about this. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a couple of the newly
refurbed rooms with those highly desired queen beds when we're there.:thumbsup2

(Especially since DH is 6'6" tall and 250 pounds......he needs a little extra sleeping room.):goodvibes

If the queen beds are true....you are looking at another convert!! The beds are the only thing that has been keeping our "family" trips away. When is this supposed to happen?

I've read here on the boards that it's supposed to start this October and be completed by sometime in 2009.:thumbsup2

Not if, when. It's definite.

Thanks Buzz!! Do you think the queen beds will be in by May 2009?
With the rehab starting 10/2008, they should be winding down by 05/2009. It all depends how in depth the rehab is. If it's just paint and new beds, then yes. But if they are gutting the whole room, then maybe not. Until it's officially announced by WDW, anything can happen.

Most all of Walt Disney World resorts are going through major upgrades and updates. GF has just finished and Caribbean Beach is in the middle of some very fun and exciting changes (pirate themed rooms with “Black Pearl” décor). Coronado Springs is next. They will be replacing the double beds with queens and new furniture to suit modern tastes; but still in theme. Another 100 rooms will get upgraded to king beds. One building (not Casitas 1) will be transformed into a “Business class” club level building with rooms described below. The décor is still being tweaked, so cast members still have not seen the prototypes; but construction will start next month. The aim is to provide a level of experience that is equal or better to most upper end resorts outside of Disney. For instance, all of the rooms now are getting modern flat screen TV’s. Tables are being replaced with desks so that floor space is preserved after putting in larger beds. Most of these updates are done with great stealth, so visiting guests will not be aware that changes are happening. New rooms will just magically appear and some buildings simply won’t be available for a short period. Walt Disney World, as you would expect, is getting itself set to continue to be the best vacation destination in the world. Some accommodations are getting a little out of date, so Disney is moving up to the future.

Business Club Level services include personalized Front Desk and Guest Services, turndown service and a lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks and evening wine (additional fee) and cheese. All Business Club Level Rooms have two queen-size beds or one king-size bed, desk and chair, vanity area with sink, a ceiling fan and a bathroom. All rooms are non-smoking. Amenities include DVD player, in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, mini-fridge, robes and coffee maker. A crib is available upon request. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. These rooms offer views of the lake, courtyard or parking lot.

Are you sure the standard rooms are also getting Queen beds??

See.... I cannot imagine they would take the tables out of the standard rooms and replace the table with a desk.

I can understand them doing that for a Business club though.

What I said was the club level rooms are getting desks. The rest of the rooms will be replacing the double beds with queens and new furniture to suit modern tastes; but still in theme. Maybe a smaller armoire or table...I've not seen any pictures. Everything is still being tweaked so until it happens, no one knows for sure.

Thank you!! :goodvibes

Just because one building is being turned to club level, that doesn't mean that CSR wouldn't change all the beds to queens to cater to more of the convention guests. CSR is not trying to compete with the GF, BW and Cont for conventions or CBR, POFQ or POR as othe mods, they are trying to compete with off site convention resorts in Orlando. So by switching to queen beds, it may make it more attractive to other companies. Why else do you think CSR would be the first WDW resort to get a dance club? Or why do you think they added Cafe Rix so convention guests can get a quick meal and head back to meetings. All the perks benefit all guests but CSR's man objective is to attract conventions. CM's will begin training soon for the new club level rooms.
