CSR getting queen beds??

I have a friend that books conventions for a group of neurosurgeons and she has been booking her guys there for several years now. She raves about the place. We also have a friend that attended a plastic surgery convention there and even he remarked how nice it was. Our hold up has been the full beds, we tried POFQ once and said never again to a moderate. After paying almost $400 a night for our upcoming BC stay in Novemebr, with a AAA discount, we may be rethinking CSR!

Okay, with the news of getting queen beds and a club level, CSR just popped back onto my radar. Can't wait to see what develops! :thumbsup2

Queen beds is one of the things that drew my eye towards a deluxe! I am thrilled to hear that CSR is getting them! My husband would much rather stay at a Moderate and save some cash! I had resigned myself to a family suiteat ASMu so that we could have a bigger bed at a price my husband wouldn't cringe at. A new option!!! WooHoo!

Finally, the moderates are worthy of their namesake....I always thought that was an aspect ofthe mods that didn't make sense...esp. with moderate national chains going to queens. Just makes sense, IMO.

There's plenty of space in the rooms at CBR.

I may well have to rethink a stay at CBR.

One thing I noticed about CSR - it's no longer going to be part of the dining plan in 2009.

Not true. CSR goes through this every year. They get added later than the rest of the CS places because the PM is not run by WDW. Last year it was added very late, I think it was December and the year before that it was added late Sept.

That is not necessarily true. The Pepper Market and Maya Grill are NOT owned by Disney, but an outside vendor and, therefore, they must sign a contract with them for the dining plan. Every year of the dining plan, Maya Grill and Pepper Market as well as a few other restaurants are added on later (that was the case this year when the dining plan was first announced and someone was worried, but I had remembered it from last year).

me too! I wish they were in place for Sept!

The new tv's will be flat panels (LCD).

You are totally speaking my husband's language! it will be easy to sell him on CSR with queen beds and LCD tv's! if only we could add in free beer there would be no question. :lmao:

Like other people have said, Queen beds are huge. I've been very hard on the moderates because I didn't see enough differences from the values to justify the price difference. I've said either Value or Deluxe but never a Mod. Queen beds could change this - to say queen beds are a significant upgrade is an understatement.

I think the LCD's are overrated. They'll just give the illusion of more space, but I'm sure they'll be smallish, so the viewing experience won't be an upgrade. You actually get a better picture on most conventional crt tv's than you do on most lcd's, especially the cheap lcd's they would put in a motel room. But in a 314 square foot room, every inch counts, so lcds are a good idea too.

Well, I can't wait!!! We have CSR booked for June, so I hope the remodeling is finished by then!

We're trying the dining plan for the first time next summer, so I hope Pepper Market and the Maya Grill are added. I remember reading last year how they were added much later.

I wish it was ready for Sept. 08.

When we stayed at the CR last summer the tvs were nice sized, maybe even 42 inch and were a name brand, LG I think. It was definitely a nice upgrade for them!

I am really hoping that the queen beds are the same ones used in the Deluxe properties because the full beds used at the moderates are really hard on my back. Feels like I sleeping on a brick! :scared:

I'm just glad they finally hear all the feedback regarding queen beds. :cool1:

I just checked for a room for Nov 09 on the WDW site and this is what it said... only the club rooms will have the queen sized beds... the regular rooms still have doubles :confused3

Everyones getting all excited, just like Fort Wilderness Cabins becoming moderates, in name only, but at CSR club level, at what price? I bet alot will will become discouraged when the final price comes out, again a moderate resort, queen beds, concierge level priced the same as a deluxe resort.

Actually, the prices are out on mousesavers for the new Club level/queen beds. And it won't turn me off...it's still cheaper than a deluxe and we still prefer it over most of the deluxes.

That is what I also have been hearing.

Buzz2001 seems pretty sure all of the rooms ( well those that are not Suites or have King beds) will have the doubles replaced with Queens.
I hope he is correct because I think there will be a lot of DIS'ners who will be dissapointed if most of the standard rooms at CSR still have 2 double beds come mid-late 2009.

We were there a few weeks ago and a friend of ours who is a mousekeeper told us they're rehabing CSR. Starting in Casitas and moving along from there. Carpeting, flat screen tv's, queen beds, fresh paint, etc.
