CSR - best location to request for... ?

We just returned from CSR and were in Casitas 5. It isn't right next to anything but close to all. At CSR no building will be close to everything. We were a short walk to Pepper Market, Main Pool and Bus stop #2. Consider if you prefer to be close to the Dig Site or Pepper Market. They are on opposite ends of the resort. Many people on this site recommend the Cabanas. They are close to bus stop #4. I want to point out that when we were there there was never any sitting room on the bus by the time we hit this stop. If you don't mind standing then not a problem

For a room close to the main pool (the Dig Site), ask for Casitas building 5, Rancho building 7A or 7B, or Cabanas building 8A. If you like to be close to the main building and food court area, request Casitas building 1 or Cabanas 9B. For a room closest to the main bus stop, ask for Casitas 1.

We loved out corner room in cabana 8a. #8140. close to bus, car, right at the pool and lovely walk over the bridge to el centro!!

Is 8a the smoking section at CSR? I need to request an area and do not want smoking room. I know the smoking rooms are in one section of Cabanas, but can't remember which one!

I believe 9A is the smoking optional building in the Cabanas.

Thanks Epcotfan! I think you're right. I knew it was an "A" building, and now that you say 9A, it sounds very familiar. We just can't decide if we should request Cabanas or Casitas. I hear good things about both. We will have a car, so the bus stops don't mean anything to us. Which do you prefer?

Thanks everyone. I went through some old stuff and found the maps from the two times we stayed there. First was in Casitas, I remember we weren't crazy about that, second time was in Cabana 8B. I recall it was fairly close to the pool and bus stop, but can't recall what it was like to the food court.

These maps are both different and hard to figure out. I'm thinking I might request 9B, but I'm assuming we'd have to walk to the main part to catch the bus? Is that fairly close by? Am I correct in that 9B would be near two bridges? One to food court and other to Dig Site?
Anyone also know what kind of views this building has? from the map it looks like it is not near a parking lot?

We stayed in Cabanas 9B in March. It was very convenient to the food court and over the bridge about 3 minute walk to Dig Site. It is between the 2 bridges. We loved the location. We had a view of the main lake, but did not book waterview just std. It was a gorgeous resort!

Thanks Kris. Where did you catch the bus? At the main building or over at the rancho/cabana bus stop? Did it take long?

Do you recall if a parking lot was near by? I can't tell on the map.
