CSR - any drawbacks of it being a convention center?

So far, this is our (well mine!) top choice for our trip next year but my family have asked whether there are any drawbacks with it being a convention center?

Does it get very very busy with conventions that could make it difficult to say, find a seat in the food court during lunchtime (i.e. when they all go for their lunch!)

We'd like a resort with less children if possible so I suppose this is one positive, there are likely to be more adults?

I hear people now and then saying they run into conventioneers there but we've never had a problem there at all. No problem with a table to eat at. I highly recommend CSR for an adult group. That's what we are most of the time and we love it there.

The only draw back is that the restaurants can get crowded during peak times. I will usually eat lunch at 11:30am vs noon or dinner at 4 or 4:30pm to try and avoid the rush.

The buses and pool always seem less crowded because they are working during the day. In my opinion, it helps having conventions at the resort, the more the merrier.

Thanks so much both of you!

We tend to only nip over for a quick bit of breakfast and depending on our plans for the day we will often just take a muffin / bagel & hot choc back to the room whilst we finish getting ready (well I send my other half and Mum sends Dad!).

There is only the odd day we'll eat lunch or dinner at the resort anyway (and then it will be quite late 'cos of being at the parks all day) so I suppose I am silly for worrying!

I have my heart set on CSR now, but my Mum (who clearly earns more than me!) wants to splash out and stay at AKL. I think I am a good persuader though!

Finally, how on earth do the conventioners get any work done! I know I couldn't if I had a convention onsite at Disneyt - I'd want to go play!!!

None what so ever, it's one of two of our favorite moderates. There is even an advantage to staying at a convention resort, the pool during the day while they are "conventioning" is pretty empty.;)
