We will be going to WDW in late August and I'm trying to plan some counter service meals at MK, AK and Epcot that are indoors and air conditioned. Could you please list all of the indoor (airconditioned) options that are available for these parks? Thanks a bunch...I'm going to try to "avoid" the heat as much as possible :rotfl2:

Just off the top of my head:

MK - Pecos Bill, Pinocchio's Haus, Cosmic Rays, Columbia Harbour house
Epcot - Electric Umbrella
AK - Pizzafari

I'll post again if I think of more!

Most if not all of the counter services have AC. :thumbsup2 In fact, I can't think of one that doesn't have that option. The majority have inside/outside choices: Pizza Planet in MGM and El Pirata Y El Perico in MK are perfect examples. Air conditioning in August will NOT be a problem.

Kind of hate to give this secrect away.... but I'll do it:

the BEST counter service is at Columbia Harbor House. The food is good, not your usual burgers and chicken, but the best part is the upstairs dining room. This secret was given to my husband and I when we went on our "Keys to the Kingdom Tour." At Coulumbia Harbor House there is a downstairs dining room that fills up regularly, but if you order your food and take it upstairs, you'll often find that it's nearly EMPTY up there. The upstairs dining room is just as big as downstairs and no one seems to know it's there. There are some interesting views of Liberty Square and Fantasyland from the windows. I've even watched (i admit it wasn't the best view) the parade from the windows here while I ate a late lunch.

Don't sit downstairs!! It's so crowded. Look for the stairs and head up after you get your food! (Also- the fish & chips here are as good as they are in the UK at EPCOT!)

Epcot also has Sunshine Seasons and Liberty Inn; Hollywood Studios has ABC Commissary, Toy Story Pizza Planet

Also remember that alot of the outside dining areas are shaded quite nicely. Even just in the shade, it'll feel ten degrees cooler. Our favorite is Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom. Outdoors but it sure doesn't feel like it.

The Lotus Blossom Cafe in Epcot has all covered seating but open aired. Another nice place that's not air conditioned but feels nice in the hotter times of the year.

We discovered that on the KTTK tour too and we're so glad we did!

We're August people, too.

Some favorites for a quick CS lunch in AC - and not too crowded:

MK - CHH

AK - Pizzafari (we love Flametree BBQ but it is not AC)

Epcot - Yakatori House, Liberty Inn (this place is huge and not at all crowded)

Please keep in mind we're talking basic, nothing-fancy lunches.

We've never taken the Keys to the Kingdom tour...But we've always eaten upstairs at Columbia Harbor House. The stairs are visible from either end. It is true, it isn't as busy. However, I think a lot of people know about it, they just don't want to walk up. I heard a family walk by us while we were sitting and the mother was complaining about having to go upstairs and the husband looked at his wife then all the empty seats and gave the most hilarious look. The kids were laughing, the mother was not at all impressed. I thought it was kind of funny too.;)

thanks a bunch for the great tips! No AC is not an option on this trip as DD doesn't do so well with heat (and of course summer is the only time we can go :confused3 ):confused3 . this gives me some good options to look for :cool1:
