CS Meals--Enough to Share??

From what I understand there is a lot food available on the dining plan and I am trying to figure out how to do the CS meals. I was wondering with the CS if it would be enough for DH and I (not huge eaters) to share. Also, are the kids meals enough for two kids my dd's have fairly healthy appetites) to share or is it better for each adult to share with a child?

One I don't want us (well really ME) to gain weight (but still enjoy with out too much watching), two I don't want to waste food and thirdly it would be nice if we could also share the odd hot cs breakfast (I think everyone will get sick of the in room cereal and granola bars fast) and still have enough credits for other meals.

Even at counter service meals...when we had a plan that included the appetizer, entree and dessert...Mom and I..both love to eat...had plenty! We even shared the drink!

Just make sure there is dessert...don't think all CS places have dessert...can't skip that....no way!

A lot depends on where you eat....I would NOT think that kids meals are share-able at most CS places...portions are pretty small. However I think the adult meals are quite ample for sharing, most places. I would think that 3 adult CS meals would be PLENTY for 2 relatively hungry adults and 2 kids. You might even be able to get by on 2 adult meals at someplaces (especially if you and DH shared a meal...I think 1 CS meal would be plenty for 2 kids).

We usually order 3 CS meals for our family of 4 (me, DH and 2 teen daughters, both with adult sized appetites...none of us are exactly dainty eaters either) and it is all we can comfortably eat.

Certainly you and DH could share and the kids get kids meals....but I think you can still get adult CS meals for the kids on the dining plan.

I've always seen on these threads that people share CS meals, and thats enough for them. For myself and my DH we never share meals, we may swap food in our meals. Sharing one item for lunch and us being content isn't going to happen.

With the meal plan you can get an apetizer and dessert with the main item. We almost never get an appetizer or dessert, however our next trip is on the free meal plan.

It all depends on what you normally eat in comparison to the size of portions at disney.

If your worried about gaining weight, you don't have to use the dessert part of your meals. If you are sharing meals, then your kids or your husband will surely enjoy the good treat. Some people wouldn't dream of skipping a free dessert at each meal, but its up to the individual. If your wanting a taste, grab a bite from your husbands dessert and thats it. You get a taste with the fraction of eating the whole thing.
Again with the weight issue. Many places will let you substitute something like carrot sticks for the fries. If you see the carrots on the kids menu, ask, or another veggie/fruit option. They aren't available at all CS locations, but at many.
