We had a great trip to the World this past Dec. Our only dissappointment was CP for lunch one day.

The food and service was mediocre at best, character interaction was very mediorcre too.

I was surprised to find this as I had heard so many positive things.

It wasn't horrible but I am sure we won't be in any rush to dine there again. We have had many awesome character meals elsewhere we will stick to from now on!

I have heard that lunch and dinner are iffy. We always do the breakfast. We love the food there.

We have done three dinners and one lunch in the past and have never had a problem. It is still one of our favorites and my daughter wants her birthday dinner there in September.

We've ate there our last three trips 3 dinners and 1 breakfast and we love it and keep going back...Our last trip we were not impressed with Chef Mickeys..
They seemed to have changed the menu and the service was so, so... :guilty:

We have eaten there quite a few times, with no problems other than my DW jawing on me for several hours for leading the kids through the desert bar FIRST! Poor thing...it is now a family tradition!

Sorry about your experience. We did the character lunch for the first time last June and it was great! The characters came around several times and spent lots of time posing for pics and signing autographs. The food was delicious! We plan to eat there again in Dec. I hope we have another good experience.

I am really sad to hear that! My family loved the Crystal Palace and had a wonderful lunch there 4 years ago. My brother's family went to it last year and hated it! I hope it gets back on track. I'd like to go again this trip!

Wow, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the Crystal Palace. It's one of our favorites! The food has been great, but the best was the character interaction. My son adores Pooh and when Pooh came by, he spent a lot of time with him.

This is definitely one of our "must" do dinings on each trip. I guess not every place is for everyone. We love it

That's too bad that you didn't have a good experience. We went in Nov for an early dinner and had great Character interaction. ( they even did something special for me to take back to a girl I work with)
The food was very good and the service was excellent.
This time we are going to go for Breakfast. I hope it lives up to our last visit.

We recently went to CP twice in one trip for breakfast and the character interaction was excellent. It was not crowded either time so maybe that is why. It was just my DH and me and the characters gave us as much attention as they did the kids. DH got kisses and hugs from Eeyore. Pooh sat down beside me and put his arm around me. It was awesome. I am sorry you had a bad experience. We had heard lunch was not great so we have only had breakfast there.

We will be going to CP on Sunday, Feb 6th for DGS 1st birthday :cake: . I presently have a PS ressie for 9:25 AM, MK opens at 9 AM. I'm thinking that it might be better for me to change the PS ressie to a lunch time, so that we can do a few rides when we first enter MK. What time is breakfast served until? Maybe I should just try to change it to a late breakfast? What time is the lunch menu served? Thanks, trying to finalize my plans and starting to second guess myself :confused3 .

We are trying to decide between Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's, but both seem to have mixed reviews and different drawbacks. Which is better of the two? What else is good with a 4 year old girl (other that Cindy's)?

Thanks!

I think for breakfast the reviews for CP are usually good.

If it were me I would want to do CP since we were not thrilled with Chef Mickey's BUT.... I think it depends on what characters you want to see.
Chef Mickey's was fun but we liked the food and service better at CP.
Chef Mickey's had a more party feel to it I think but we had more interaction with characters at CP.
In the long run I'm glad we did both.

We really like both CP and CM, but mainly for the characters. I think the food at either can be hit or miss depending on your tastes. Let's face it, you'll never get gourmet dining at a buffet, and I've had some good and some bad at each, but that's why I only take a small serving of several things, and then go back for what I really liked.

:Pinkbounc DW and I ate breakfast here for my fiftieth birthday several years ago and had a blast!!!!! The food was great! Last trip we had dinner and it too was a great meal and lots of fun!!!!!!
We're going in March for DW's birthday and will either do lunvh or dinner here one day!! :earboy2:

Karensi - I would recommend getting a breakfast PS around 8 am - then you will be finishing up with breakfast as the park opens. You can get some great pics in front of the castle before the crowds pour in, too. This is how we have scheduled our breakfast next week.

We love the Crystal Palace & eat here for breakfast on every trip. They have the best breakfast food around, IMO. Hubby loves the breakfast lasagna. We also recently started dining here for dinner - we've had dinner there twice now & will also be having dinner there next week. Sorry to hear about the poor lunch experience - that's the only meal we haven't had there, but I usually don't hear great reviews about the lunch for some reason. Maybe you could try the breakfast there next time. :D

Thanks all, I think we're going to try and get both. May or may not do Cindy's Table too, since we'll probably do the 1900 Park Fair Dinner.

The last breakfast PS is at 10:30. That is time we always go because we're late sleepers. The place is less crowded then, too. I love the CP breakfast, but I don't have any desire to try lunch or dinner.
