My husband and I(two seniors) are booked at Crystal Palace for dinner. I thought I read somewhere that this restaurant is geared for children. Is that so? Will we enjoy it, or should we change.

Crystal Palace is always a must for our family. Its a normal disney buffet much like Hollywood and vine or other park buffets, it is a little loud and its a character dinner with Pooh and friends. Our kids love it there and so do we but if your looking for a quiet adult dinner place this is not it. Hope this helps :)

It's definitely geared to children and children-at-heart. It's a good buffet meal, and Tigger, Pooh, Piglet and Eyeore stop at each table for pictures and an autograph.

DH and I went befoe DS was born, and we always enjoyed watching the other familes with the characters.

It's not the best food in the world - so if you are looking for something with great food - I would choose a non-buffet meal.

We went to the CP last night for dinner. I'll post my pics later. It was me, DH, and DD7. She loved the kids buffet, which had Chicken Nuggets, mac and cheese (which she avoided b/c it was so bad at epcot on friday), green beans, etc. They also have pizza.

However, there were 7-8 salads to choose from, edamame, couscous, medi pasta salad, etc. and peel and eat shrimp. The hot items had mash, veg, prime rib, turkey, ancho chili rubbed salmon, curried mussels, basmati rice, etc. So, it was very good for both kid and adults!

Can't wait to see the pictures! My family has always gone here for breakfast but will be having dinner for the first time in December. Looking forward to something different.

We go each year and always enjoy ourselves. The characters pay as much attention to us as they do the children. Never a disappointment.:thumbsup2

we went last November as a party of 2 adult woman (my aunt and I) and we had the best time. We got pictures and even autographs (it was my aunts 1st visit and she wanted them:goodvibes ) no one looked at us weird for being grown woman enjoying being kids again :rotfl: and the characters spent just as much time with us as anyone else

but like a PP said, if you're looking for a nice quiet dinner, this is anything but

My family (me, dh, dd-6.5yo, & ds-2yo) went for dinner on ds' 2nd birthday and it was our least favorite meal on property. We MUCH preferred the food at Chef Mickey's & Park Fare for character meals, and the buffet at Tusker House for lunch was our favorite buffet during our visit.

The service was not even close to adequate for an off property meal never mind that it was sorely missing that Disney magic. The character interaction wasn't all that great either.

We decided that we wouldn't be going back anytime soon.

We are also fans of CP and have a great time and great food each visit. While we have kids, it is a place we would go even if it were just the two of us. We always see many diners that do not have kids and diners of all age groups who are having a great time.

We feel the same about Chef Mickey's. Great food and a great time add by all, with or without kids.

Like most of WDW, it's not just for the young.....but for the young at heart.

My DH and I are 55 and 50 (I'm the 50! :lmao: ). We do Crystal Palace every year for breakfast. There is no way I am going to the Magic Kingdom and not having my puffed french toast or getting my picture taken with Eeyore and the rest of the gang.

we went to CP a year ago with four adults and we had a great time......the food was delicious.......so when we went back last Sept we (hubby and myself) went again and LOVED it again.......we went with neighbors this past May and they loved the buffet. We brought our college age granddaughter ....she had a blast too....we are scheduled to go in Sept for my hubbys birthday and look forward again

It has characters there but I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy it. It's Disney:)

CP is for everybody! :thumbsup2 Adults as well as children love it. The characters will interact with everyone so have your camera ready and have a good time.

I went with 6 adults last year and we had a great time. Granted the 3 girls are Pooh fans and 1 is a huge Tigger Fan. But we had such a good. We had our pictures with them and just enjoyed watching the kids reactions and the parents reactions to the kids.

Kimmie,
CP was the very first breakfast during our first visit to MK in 1996 when my son was 5. He is now 16 and still enjoys it. The best for him is the make your own omelet. They have choices for everyone from fruit and cereal to eggs and bacon. Basically, standard choices. Since we always have had seatings before the park opens we are able to enjoy the atmosphere as we walk down mainstreet early morning.

We're in our 60s and we go all the time! We went in January with our daughter, her husband, our son and his girl friend, all in their late 20s & early 30s and everyone liked it.

Definitely give CP a try. I have only eaten breakfast there and the food is great. You must try the breakfast lasagna. The name is deceptive as it has neither meat nor cheese in it. It is delicious. :cheer2: While there are characters and you will find families with children, you will also find families without children and they are having just as much fun as those with children. My 68 year old mother found the character meals to be so much fun. I think you should throw caution to the wind and go for it.:dance3:

Just got back - we were 4 adults (50ish) - 2 teens and a 10 year old. While the place is pretty, non of us liked the food. There were a lot of things that I had no idea what they were. I basically spent like $30 for myself so that I could eat spoonbread. Even the desserts were bad, "fake ice cream" and a suspicious looking strawberry cheesecake that looked like Spam. Maybe breakfast is better, I can only vouch for dinner. Unless your seniors are big Pooh fans, I would take them someplace else preferably out of Magic Kingdom will the better food is.
