Just booked my Disney vacation for May and I was thinking of eating at Crystal Palace on my first day in the Magic Kingdom. What's the food like? Is it worth going to or should I try another restaurant in the Magic Kingdom instead? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've got this book for breakfast and haven't really heard much about it either!!! People speak up!!

DW and I love CP. The food is fantastic and the character interaction is great! DW absolutely loves Pooh and the gang and the topiaries are very well done. I recommend trying this restaurant. :thumbsup2

breakfast is traditional breakfast with some other stuff that is really good. Dinner is a above avg. buffet, with surprises and dessert bar that is very good. Avoid Tony's. Liberty Tree Tavern is sponsored by Stoufers, so you can make a reservation to sit down and havre Stouffers turkey, potatos, mac and cheese, and stuffing... costing $37. The same could be had at the grocery for $6. Cindy's Big Royal Table is a very hard to get reservation. Also keep in mind that the Plaza restaurant has excellent sandwiches.

We had lunch in August and really enjoyed it. The food was very good and had a wide variety. The character interaction was very good also.

Have fun!

We love Character meals and this was a little too "intense" for me -- And I love Chef Mickey's! I thought it was SO loud that I was going to go crazy. :scared: It didn't help that my DS pirate: was just 1 and throwing everything on the floor.

I would do this one again when they were a bit older. I loved the food, the character interaction, and the atmosphere. But it was horribly loud and well it was so LOUD. that is my only complaint. And my kids. they were not behaving. :sad2:

Anyway, the food's good, so enjoy! popcorn::

We love CP... go there for each trip. It is appealing to our children and ourselves. We have always enjoyed the food, and the kids love the character interaction: Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger. The food is a buffet with carved meats, sides, salads and desserts. Their prime rib is awesome! They also have a kids buffet which they loved! I have posted our dining review of this if you want further information and photos.

We always hit CP for breakfast on every trip. It is such a pretty room, the characters are usually great (every now and again it is very crowded and does take the full hour or so to see them all). I have always thought they do a great job with the breakfast foods- lots to choose from and very fresh. I don't agree with the poster who said they thought the room was loud and it was overwhelming- I actually find this a lot less chaotic than some of the other character meals, but that's what makes the disboards so fun to read- lots of opinions

We ate there for breakfast. It was probably one of the best disney meals we have ever been to! I love the food and so do my kids! They have sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, i think pooh waffles, and so much more good food! Also the palace is just so beautiful! The character interaction was just wonderful. All the pooh characters came to our table. But piglet is waiting in the front and you have to come up to him. This meal was spectacular!

CP is the best. We're doing the breakfast buffet this year and can't wait. Nothing like starting your day off right!!:thumbsup2

CP is one of our favorite places to eat!!! We hit it every trip!!!! Breakfast and dinner are fantastic, we've never been to lunch though. I'm sure you will be happy with your choice!!!

I love CP. I was there last May and the food was great not outstanding but great. the interaction with characters was awesome. My DD2 loved it. We are actually going back this May and we made an ADR for there again. If you ahven't made any ADR's and are going this May you better hurry up as the restaurants book up quick.

Breakfast is awesome! Puffed french toast rules! Breakfast lasagne is great when it is fresh and you can get the first few spoonfuls of it...when it sits it turns pasty.

Dinner is also great, they have a fantastic chicken, mushroom, pasta dish in a cheese cream sauce, adobe pork is wonderful and killer spoon corn bread. Top that off with all you can eat Tollhouse Cookies and my DH is a very happy puppy

And don't forget the ancho rubbed salmon for dinner!!! Yummo. Last August they had a mahi-mahi as well that was to die for. OK, now I'm salivating...my keyboard's gonna blow out.:scared1:

We went there for breakfast in January. It was really good, they have something for everyone I think. And although it was just DH and I, I didn't notice the noise at all....no more so than any other place.

We love the Crystal Palace. I think the food is pretty good for a buffet and the character interaction is great! I'm a huge fan of the banana bread pudding! Yum!

But piglet is waiting in the front and you have to come up to him.

This hasn't been our experience in all of the times that we've eaten there. All of the characters made their way to our table. I guess it depends when you go.

They seem to rotate between he and Pooh that stay at the front. We have had Piglet to come to the table and have had Pooh come to the table.
Either way it's great character time for the kids and you get to SIT and wait for the character's and EAT while you SIT ... LIFE IS GOOD !!!!:teleport: :thumbsup2

CP breakfast is our favorite character meal... food is very good, characters are fabulous... we've done it as an early ADR to get to the castle for rope drop, and also as a last possible seating for breakfast, making "brunch" our main meal of the day on a rope-drop to Wishes MK day.

We've always had all four come to our table.

Last time DD5 ate 4 whole waffles because she couldn't make up her mind: Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore or Piglet :)

we have an ADR here for May and cant wait to try it... its at 8:00 and hubby is not to excited about that... :)

It's a must and both boys absolutely loved it. It's a beautiful place and the characters each came to the table. Not rushed at all. There's a cute march around the restaurants they do with the kids.

The breakfast food is very good and lots of choices. We did not do lunch or dinner there, I wanted to but Dh said breakfast please!

Plus it's fun to get in the park before it opens and get the great pictures with a almost empty park.

:)
