I love CP for breakfast but have never been to Akershus for breakfast (been there for lunch only). My girls are getting out of the princess stage so the interaction isn't important. Strictly based on the food variety and quality, which would you recommend? Thanks!

I agree...Crystal Palace! Love the setting, right in the Magic Kingdom, plus the food is always so fresh and delicious :lovestruc

def. CP -- way more variety, plus the eggs & bacon & stuff aren't on the buffet at Akershus, they just bring you a plate. So I'm not sure if you could get more if you wanted.... I'm sure you could (I'm just guessing), but not as easy as just goig up to the buffet and getting it yourself.

I actually had both of these breakfasts just this week! They are both good. There's definitely more variety at CP, but the actual food quality, in my opinion, was a little better at Akershus. There's a buffet with a variety of cold items, and the hot items (eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes) come to you table on a family-style platter (which they do refill if you want more of anything). The main reason I prefer the Akershus breakfast, though, is not for the food- it's the chance to spend time/take pictures in a completely empty Epcot! That itself was worth the expensive breakfast price for me! We had an 8:05 adr, and were let into the park at about 7:40.

I adore both of these places!
Having visited Crystal palace since being a child myself i think the food is always of a wonderful standerd,That being said i have done Arkeshus and i have 3 boys so like yourselves the Princess side of it not greatly important (although my boys fell in love last yr) .....I think the food is of a slightly better quality and choice!!, so i would say if your planning on doing Epcot early def go here as the Photo package you get is beautiful!!!!

We actually like both of these breakfasts. We have made it a tradition of ours to eat breakfast at Akershus on our first full day before the park opens. We love everything about this place. As for CP, we have made a habit of making a pre park opening ADR on our MK day. The food and character interaction is great there too....DH and I especially love the made to order omelet bar :goodvibes.
