I had one day left in our 12 day itinerary with NO ressies... planning on "resting at the pool" but DS (6) really wants to see Tigger - so... I just made an ADR for Crystal Palace for lunch.

We went two years ago for dinner and I wasn't thrilled with the food. Has it improved? :confused3

we went for breakfast ind ecember and the food was very good, so much better than the year before, so I wouldnt worry about it,

My DD went to WDW with her school in November. They ate lunch at the Crystal Palace. She was very excited since we had never eaten there before. She came away disappointed with the food. She said the characters and the atmosphere were nice, but the food was not that good. :confused3

We were there for lunch this past summer, and found the food to be acceptable, but not outstanding. As I remember it, the desert selections were quite good. It is a large room, and on the loud side, but quite enjoyable. The many mirrors in the room make it easy to see what's going on all over the place, and the characters do an excellent job with the kids. The service was also excellent.

I also remember the music that was playing outside on the porch while we were waiting to be admitted. Outstanding selections I thought; but then I do tend to notice thing like that wherever I roam. Very Disney-like.

I would recommend the Crystal Palace.

Enjoy.

I had lunch there for the first time in Dec. I was surprised at how good it was. I usually am not big on buffets. I think mostly because we were there for first seating & everything was fresh. But also because there was a wide selection of salads & veggies, which I like. There was plenty of meat also, but that's not what stood out for me.
I would eat there again, first seating for lunch.

We ate dinner there Wed. night, I think it was. It was good (it's a buffet) - DS (a very mature 9 y/o) still loved seeing Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore and Pooh. It was very crowded and I'm glad we had reservations. They were turning people away who didn't have reservations - it was very crowded, but we ate kinda late and it started clearing out before we were done eating.

We were there a week and a half ago for lunch and it was great. The food was very good, particularly the salmon, pork loin and the red skin mashed potatoes. It was a little chaotic in there though. Eeyore and Tigger came over pretty soon after we got there but we were done and Pooh and Piglet still hadn't come over so our server got Pooh to come over. My DS just wanted to leave so we only waved to Piglet on the way out. But the food was excellent.

We ate lunch at the CP last May for the 1st time & really enjoyed it - a wonderful "break" in the middle of the day. The buffet had so many yummy selections - and not just your normal "buffet-fare". We liked it so much that DH requested we eat lunch there again this year. This year, my parents will be w/ us for 2 days of our vacation, and, since I'm trying to "wow" them w/ how magical & wonderful Disney is, I decided CP would be a good restaurant to take them.

Last year, I never did get around to posting my dining reviews, but I did write one for our lunch at CP - -

Our 1st buffet @ Disney & another good character meal. Our ADR time was for 11:50 am. For whatever reason (???), we decided to check-in at 11:00 am (along w/ a bunch of other people), and we were seated at about 11:45 am. This was a quite a crowded place! People w/o ADR's were being turned away.

We were seated at a table w/ a good view of the castle. Standing in line for the buffet was almost as bad as standing in lines for rides! :rotfl: While I was getting plates for our kids, both Eeyore & Tigger came by our table. Luckily, while we waited for Pooh, Tigger came by again.

The kids loved this buffet - lots of good selections for them. They really liked the huge strawberries. I loved the mandarin orange salad dressing. Quite yummy! In fact, this was probably our favorite buffet. Lots of good choices! The bread pudding was absolutely delicious! We also loved the spoon bread & the fritatta. (I tried the carrot & potato soup but didn't care for it.)

All the characters were really good as well - especially considering how crowded the restaurant was. Tigger led some fun parades. And, even though it took Pooh FOREVER to come to our table, he didn't seem hurried while he was there. That was our only problem - we were done & really ready to get back to the park, but we had to wait a bit for Pooh & we couldn't leave w/o seeing Pooh. Our whole area hadn't seen Pooh, so everyone was waiting.

Atmosphere - Excellent (What a lovely restaurant!)
Food - Excellent
Characters - Good to Excellent
Service - Good (Waitress was a bit slow w/ drink refills)
