Is dinner at Crystal Palace a character meal? Also, would it be overkill to do that and BOG the same day?

Yes. Winnie the Pooh & Friends are at every meal at Crystal Palace. I don't think it's overkill to do BOG also on the same day. Very different experiences. IMO BOG is more about atmosphere and CP is about character interaction.
