I have early reservations at the Crystal Palace at 8:35. My question is how early will they let us in the park since ? Is it easy to get through the gate? My daughter was wanting some Senior pictures done as we go in with the Castle in the background. I know this will be easier if we can get in early with not many in the background. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Go to My Disney Experience, click on Park Hours on the day you plan to be there, it will tell you at the top. If you want a list of all the park hours for a particular date, click on the drop down menu where it says "Park Schedule", and select "Park Hours" instead. It will give you a list of all the park hours, including extra magic hours for the date you want.

LOL I don't think the above understood your question. You can get in at 730/745 usually. We did with an 820 reservation in November with no issue. The park is not "empty" but a lot less hectic than rope drop. Disney does not allow professional photographers into the park, only at the resorts but if you mean you just want the photopass guy to take some they will. We still have people in the background of some of our photos but only 1 or 2.

Just wanted to say that we do an 8:00-8:10 Crystal Palace ADR every year and they've never allowed ppl into the park before 7:45 while we've been there (maybe depends on time of yr?). Having said that if your ADR is for 8:30, you should still have plenty of time to take some pics.

A friend had an early reservation in September. Upon entering the park her son was given a ride to Crystal Palace on the firetruck! How awesome is that?!?!?!

Thanks everyone! I have my own camera that is similar to a professional camera. I do photography as a hobby. We were hoping that crowds would be much less since everyone coming is going somewhere similar and the regular park crowd would not be let in.

So the earliest they let people in is about 7:45 ish?
I found an earlier reservation for 8:10 but that may not give us enough time to do pics.

What is the protocol for getting in to the park once already in Crystal Palace? We have an ADR for 810 a.m and aren't really there for the characters, so I'm sure we can be done by 9. When the magic hour hits, can we make a dash to rides straight from the restaurant? Or is there some sort of re-routing to the regular entrance lines?

You can go right ahead and make your mad dash! :-). We do it every time.

On our last visit, they held everyone waiting for CP and CRT until 8 am and let everyone in at once.

I'm sure you'll have time to snap a few pictures. We have done CP 2x before MK opens. It is always a breeze. :thumbsup2

We were also driven to our reservation in 2012 by one of the old fashion cars, it was great. We always have early reservations and have always gotten in the park around 7:45-7:50 with no issues. its great seeing Main St pretty much empty first thing. When you get out be prepared for the masses. When we first did this I thought the park was being taken over, lol. It kind of reminded me of a scene from the Walking Dead, lol. :rotfl:

You will be able to just go through the park as normal. You will be surprised how long you will actually be in CP. By the time you sit down, eat and get the bill it will be 9 before you know it.
