Ok, I tried to get an ADR for Crystal Palace at breakfast our first day but all they had was lunch (11:40). I am trying to come to terms with not seeing the park empty like i have heard so much about. Since then I have checked online and can get a breakfast there at 8:20. Sooooo...I was hoping for some opinions..

Food wise which do you prefer...breakfast or lunch at Crystal Palace? Any food pics would be great as well. Oh, and lunch is still a character meal right?

Lunch is still a character meal. We prefer breakfast - because it is a really great breakfast. We have not had lunch there, but we did have dinner and it was really good too. Breakfast is just so outstanding.

and LOVED it so much we returned for breakfast as well since there was an opening a few days later. Lunch was better in my opinion. The characters are great here. They bent down to the highchair so my 2 year old could talk to them and kiss them :) I just got back from our trip yesterday but I will get some pics of the food up for you as I am doing a review as well but the buffet was great for lunch, mac and cheese, chicken breast strips and pizza and broccoli I believe were on the kids buffet but the strips were very high quality I even ate a couple dipped in bbq and they were yummy ;) They had all sorts of salads and fresh fruits on the cold side, carved flank steak which was very good (im not a big meat eater but this was good) and pork the day we went, potatoes, veggies, cornbread it was all very good we all agreed. However...the best part was the desserts...They had huge pieces of fresh boston cream pie, bread pudding, ice cream, apple crisp cookies, and sooo much more. ALL of their desserts were sooo soo good but the one that has been on my mind to this day and hour was the coconut flan.

wow. this was the best thing i think i put in my mouth the entire time i was at disney. Just a hint of coconut taste but it was creamy and just perfect :)

Anyway, GO for lunch, you will not regret it. The characters are great and the service was wonderful. Breakfast was good but I liked Tusker Houses much better IMO.

Hope you have a great trip! I will put some pics up as soon as we unpack ;)

We had lunch there and liked it so much we went back later in our trip to do it again. I thought the food was quite good for a buffet, especially the salmon and the spoonbread. Character interaction was also great.

The one thing I would say about breakfast in the parks is that it great to get in before opening. We are doing a Tusker House breakfast at Animal Kingdom at 8:05 and it's great to get in early and already be halfway in the park when you are done. It really does help beat the rush.

I'm big on sunshine, OJ & buffets for breakfast. If I can get all three in one place - wonderful... add in a hint of Tigger & eeyore and I'm in heaven.

That said, this trip CP will be dinner for us... the kids outvoted me wanting CM as the breakfast meal.

We have never done lunch. After the two horrible dinner meals at H&V, we've given up on doing buffets for anything but breakfast (with the exception of Biergarten). Crystal Palace is a not to be missed for us for the puffed french toast, potato casserole and the made-to-order omelets (and, of course, Pooh and friends).

We did it for lunch last year and were surprised at the wonderful quality of the food. It really was good!! I would do lunch, but then again I am not a big breakfast eater. Give me a piece of fruit and I'm good until lunch. :)

We did a 4:20 lunch on June 9th, and it was great. Crystal Palace wasn't crowded at that time, so Pooh and friends greeted us several times. Food was very good especially the salmon and the coconut flan.

Personally, I thought the food selection at Crystal Palace was better than the dinner selection at Chef Mickey's.

CP for breakfast, no brainer, the food is awesome and the characters are just adorable. If you click on my January link I have a ton of food pics and buffet food pics there.

We did 11:30 am lunch on May 15th. It was perfect. We had breakfast in our room. Arrived at MK for opening show before rope drop. Walked right onto Dumbo, did at least 6 other attractions including Mickey's Philharmagic and waited in line (while the girls played in the water) at Ariel's Grotto for our meeting with Ariel - all before our CP lunch.

I think 11:30 is the earliest lunch ressie they give. When we arrived they were cleaning up from breakfast as the stragglers were finishing up. It was explained to us how the characters would rotate around the tables and our waitress kept a close watch to tell us when it would be a good time to go to the buffet to get our food. Eyeore was the first to come to us and he came so slowly and looking sad because no one was yet seated in the tables before ours. He got all excited when he reached us.

There was a great selection of food on the buffet and our DGD on the children's dining plan was free to choose from either the kid's stuff or anything else she wanted. The only food picture I took was what I selected for dessert. I managed to sample five things even though I was quite full from my delicious lunch washed down by refreshing iced tea.

We prefer breakfast, our last lunch/dinner there was not very good. We love the omelet bar and mickey pancake bar along with the amazing puffed french toasth!

We did lunch and we had 11:40 ADR too. We went opening...got alot of photopass picture walking at Main street to Castle, did all the rides in Fantasyland, then Toontown (got pictures with Minnie and Mickey and characters in the tent) goofy roller coaster and speedway and lunch at 11:40 Amazing lunch (husband loves the salmon, my son likes the chicken with rice and the salad selection was good and great dessert). Characters was wonderful and they had a parade. Enjoy

Breakfast and lunch are both good at CP, but oh the french toast...I am still craving it from December!!!

We've done breakfast and lunch, if we go back, it will be for breakfast, but both are good.

I dont understand what the big deal is with the puffed french toast there???? It really wasnt anything like french toast and I was bummed about that. To me it tasted more like a yeast doughnut???

We loved the breakfast-awesome buffet, with chef cooking made-to-order omelettes and Mickey pancakes right in front of you -we had Choc. chip! Also, you can't beat the early entry, with great castle pics when you come in, and just walking down Main St. empty. Then when you finish eating, you have pics/autogr. w/those charac. out of the way(Tigger is the best-he will bounce w/you!:yay:), and you're in the park, ready to start, not waiting in line to go through security. Can't beat it! Have fun!

I've had many Crystal Palace meals and my favorite plan of attack is first lunch seating! :thumbsup2

As others have said, get to the park early, hit all of Fantasy land before the park is crowded. Usually you can get in a few rides in Adventureland or Tomorrowland (I head for Buzz) before lunch. Power up on the food and you're good to go till way into the evening.

As a meat eater, I tend to prefer spending my buffet money on 'variety protein'. ;) I try to avoid (even though I enjoy eating them) the starchy/sweet breakfast foods...they just tend to make me crash early in the afternoon.

I love all the meals at CP. I love the puffed french toast :goodvibes It's almost like having a churro for breakfast (:laughing:for me anyway). I always have at least 2 meals here every trip (1 has to be breakfast and the other could be lunch or dinner) What ever you choose, i hope you enjoy your trip :wizard:
