So here was another ADR with mixed reviews. I picked this place for two reasons. First, we really enjoyed the food on past visits (creative twists) and second, dh and I first met there (I was 16 and he was 17).
We were booked for an 11:25 a.m. ADR for lunch. After checking in, we had only a short wait before we were called in. We were seated , drink orders taken, and the character rotation was explained to us. Although I can't honestly say the service was bad I would say the service rated the lowest of our experiences in the restaurants. The server was not overly friendly and dirty plates were cleared very slowly.
The food was quite good - though I think they had fewer salads than past visits. I know they rotate their selections but I was hoping the papaya and grapefruit one would be there that day. Also, the way the buffet is set up and with the large volume of people, a very long line quickly builds at the salad buffet and you can be standing quite a long time while everyone awkwardly attempts to reach their salad selections. The hot food was all tasty - carved ham (ds 10 nervously gobbled it up before Piglet visited in case it offended him -
), carved marinated flank steak, a pasta selection, crisp green beans, mashed potatoes to name a few. The desserts were quite varied and small sizes so you could taste quite a few - banana tart, coconut flan, bread pudding, cobbler, chocolate cannoli, fruit tarts, coffee mouse tarts were just some of the selections.
Overall, a good experience - just a bit more crowded than some of the other restaurants we visited but we did see all the characters and were not rushed for our meal.
