awe come on.She's like 16 or 17 years old and she was looking forward to a trip coming up this august. She was ready to make adrs when she found out she wasn't going. If I couldn't go on a trip I had planned, I would cry too and I'm a grown woman.
Her first reaction was sadness. When she gets over that, I'm sure she will talk to her grandparents.
You're right. Hers was a very typical teenage reaction where it's All About You. OP, if you have not already done so, please take a moment and think about how badly your grandparents feel that they had to cancel this trip. Circumstances must be pretty dire for them if they felt that they could not afford this trip. I'm sure they love you very much and the last thing that they would want to do would be to disappoint and hurt you.
But, as adults, it's our responsibility to make tough decisions like this. I would bet that they are just as disappointed and sad as you are that they cannot go this August. As a PP has suggested, please call them and commiserate together.
OK, I'll step off my Mom soapbox now and offer you a BIG HUG.

I had to put off our WDW trip last year because my DH was so sick, so I know exactly how you feel. But since then, he's had a kidney transplant and is just about back to normal, so we're going this year instead. Here's hoping that you can go next year for your senior trip.
