A friend called me earlier to tell me that there was an article in the newspaper today about a school district that has been under consideration for my granddaughter, so I dashed out to the store to grab a copy..
Got back in my van and for some reason I just had this "gut" feeling that I should look through the paper right then and there.. Imagine my surprise when I got to the Editorial Page and there was a BEAUTIFUL tribute to my sister's late DH, written by a local City Councilman!! I have never read anything so touching in my life.. This man really "captured" who my BIL was and made sure that the rest of the city would realize what a treasure they had lost..
I just sat there - bawling my eyes out.. Once I pulled myself together, I ran back inside and bought all the copies they had because I'm sure my sister doesn't know a thing about it and there will be others who want a copy of this tribute as well..
Now I'm trying to gather my thoughts so that I can send this Councilman a thank you note for memorializing my BIL in such a touching way.. Even the title was such an honor - "Joe was someone you could count on.."
I can't wait until my sister reads this.. Although it's going to be terribly painful in some ways, I'm also hoping it will be comforting to know just how MUCH her Joe was loved by all........
