CRV - will non DVC members be locked out?

Just wondering, if DVC releases points to DVC members first do you think that there is a possibility of non-DVC members being locked out from buying CRV? Do they set points aside for the general public? Sorry if this has been asked already but I have some family that are not DVC members yet who would want CRV.

I wouldn't worry. CRV are just a rumor at this point and I am sure they would not sell all the points to existing DVC members.
I am thinking that SSR will have to sell out completely before we see any others go up for sale.

I think if they do go ahead with CRV.....They would offer points to existing members first through pre-sales. This will give a large boost to selling out SSR. More people will buy into SSR 150point contracts so they can have the chance to buy an add on at the CRV resort...this way they will be killing 2 birds with one stone and they will both sell out faster.....Thats just my opinion!

I have a feeling disney will keep a larger % for rental. I think it will rent well. That, plus all the prepurchases by members...I suspect there will be less available for new folks.

I have to think that Disney will leave plenty available for non-members looking to make an initial purchase. I think there are MANY people who have not joined DVC as of yet, because they have been waiting for one thing, DVC with monorail access. If all/most of the points get gobbled up by existing members before hand (I don't think this will happen anyway), then those same folks that wanted to buy in and were waiting for this, will be shut out and will not buy until they can on the monorail. I'm pretty sure Disney would rather have more members joining.

I'm not making any predictions at all until I see what the price per point will be. I've thought to myself many times how nice it would be for a monorail DVC, but the practical side of me knows I would never buy a contract there if I feel the price is inflated too much and I know I'm not the only member that feels that way (in spite of all the posts/polls where current members have stated "they'd pay anything for a CRV").

don't worry - there will be points for new members. there have always been even with BCV. - they will have points for new members.

but the first DVC resort to be on the monrail (and probably the last) will be a BIG selling point.
