What if you pay half with points and half with cah? How do they handle insurance then? Or is insuance not needed if cruiing on points? Just floow cancellation policies?
Thansk!

For cash Disney cruises, the insurance is $99 each for the 1st/2nd in the room and $59 for each of the other guests. It covers lost luggage, health problems on the cruise and cancellation for medical reasons for cancellations inside of 60 days prior to the cruise.

The DVC insurance would cover the points used (I think at $5 per point), but I don't know how the cash portion would be covered. The point reservation does have some value (holding account) if cancelled anytime prior to the day of the cruise.

I'll be surprised if you can combine the insurance plans (or that the cash plan is even available with the DVC plan).

Good luck!

I think Doc's insurance rates are the rates for the 7 night cruises. The 3 night cruise insurance is $49/$39 for the 1st and 2nd/other guests, respectively. The 4 night insurance is $59/$49.

I don't know if the insurance you are talking about covers health, but anytime you leave the United States you should consider health coverage as you will not have any while cruising.

Yes, the insurance covers health/medical emergencies. I purchased the insurance to cover our "Who Wants to be a Millionaire--Play It" prize cruise for next October, since a medical emergency while outside the US would not be covered by my HMO.
