We are booked room only split stay BC garden view then POR pool view with 30% room only discount. Free dining still available at Yacht Club. Package includes 8 day park hopper ticket. Table service dining plan (not that any ADR's left LOL). If I crunch the numbers it works out that I would have a $150 day budget for food AND I would switch to moderate...I have 15 yo DS who eats like a horse. I read that Free Dining is rarely worth it but I am not sure. Thoughts? TIA any replies.

Financially it depends a lot on your dining preferences. When on free dining, we ate at sit down restaurants every night. We we pay-as-we-go we only have 2-3 splurges - so the cost for 2 people will be much less than $150/day.

I prefer POR over any of the other WDW resorts. POR is so beautiful - I could live there! We have not stayed at any Deluxe resorts (although my wife stayed at Poly once, and we stayed at the Swan once), but have visited them all.

My guys are adventurous diners so we are ok with any kind of table service. DH hates Disney food and I can't disagree with him. I think it is overrated. If I have to pay $45 an entree and I want to go home with the Chef LOL. DH and I have 30+ years in resort dining experience so I know the tourist industry. Doing 600+ dinners in each venue means Disney just can't deliver on quality. That is why I am thinking do the Dining Plan. Otherwise I am going to be pissed I paid for crappy food the whole week LOL.
