I have cruised on Disney before with my 2 girls (now 25 and 23) . My husband and I just booked an Oct - 7 day Western. I requested late seating. Will they put us at a table for 2, or will be seated with others?
Should I have requested a table for 2? Is it too late to do it now?
Thank you all!

I know that disney doesn't have tables for just two, so at the very least you will be at a table for 4. i don't know if it is too late to request your own table, but if it is, once you get onboard go to Rockin Bar D and request you have your own table. Depending on how full the ship is, you might be able to get it. We always travel with 7 of us and always requst a table of our own and we always get it.

You can put the request in, they may honor it. I think they like to do a lot of 4 and 6 people tables, but we have had a 2 person table in the past (per request). Although you may want to wait until you go to dinner the first night and see how you like it, sometimes it is really nice to have new people to chat with. We have enjoyed the times that we were at larger tables and have met other couples that we actually hung out with on the rest of the cruise. It is also neat to hear about other cruisers' days, like what excursions they did, what they saw, etc.

You can always go up to Palo and escape to a 2 person table when you want to. ;)

They will put two people at a table for four. We have been just the two of us once. On our most recent cruise there was a table for four next to us with just two people. We had late seating which never fills up.

This is a good question. We're a couple going in October as well and, while we don't necessarily need our own table, I'd hate to be put with a party of 4 or something like that.

We have late seating too, for May Western. Do they ever mix families with young children with older couples with no children on the late seating? I won't mind too much as we like children (ours have flown the nest) But a leisurely dinner in adult company exchanging tales of days events is also appealing?

They will put two people at a table for four if the cruise is not full but they will not guarantee you'll get a private table, only put in your request and you will find out when you go onboard. DH and I cruised without the family for our anniversary and asked for a private table. The cruise was full, however, and we were placed at a table for 8 with 2 other couples, one of whom was celebrating their anniversary also and the other couple who had been married about as long as we had. we did have a great time, although we would have liked the privacy. We did have a nice Palo brunch at a table for two on the sea day, though.

They do try to match tablemates by age/family/etc...the times that we cruised as a couple, we sat with other couples. And when we sailed a couple of times with just DS, we were seated with another family with children around the same age.

I know it doesn't always happen that way, but I think they do try. I know it would be hard to sit with a large group who all know each other. Just try to sit across from your partner if you are at a larger table. :thumbsup2

We have sailed 4 times without our kids. The first time we were with two other couples who wished they were on a different ship (go figure!!). Not a pleasant experience. The second time were were with a family with four older children. The kids were great and we still keep in touch with them. The third time we were with three other couples and two cast members who were on the ship working. They were all a lot of fun. One couple even booked the same cruise as us last month on number four. Although we didn't request to sit together we found them at our table the first night of the cruise, which was great. We sat with four other couples and had a wonderful time with them all. We exchanged e-mails so we could share pictures and even went to see one couple while visiting WDW (she works at the MK). We have never asked to sit alone, and for that I am grateful because we have met wonderful people and made friends that we would have never made if we had. No matter what you will have a great time!

We were at a table for 10 on our honeymoon. There were 3 other couples and then a mother and daughter. It was the biggest table in the dining room according to our waitress. I thought that was best, but I would hate to sit with just one other family. I would feel like I was intruding on there time. I'm afraid we will get table mates that don't like us and then request to be seated somewhere else.

To the poster who had to sit w/ couples that wished they were on a different boat... I feel especially sorry for you, did they not know what to expect from a DISNEY Cruise??

We too are adults who travel alone. We have been anywhere from table for two to a table for 10 with kids. We've always been blessed with wonderful children when they were at our tables (sometimes better behaved than some adults) :rolleyes1. If you want to be with only adults, you might want to check that out when you board.

We've been on five cruises, one before kids and four after with our young preschoolers. Without kids, we were seated with a group of four people travelling together. With kids, we have always had second seating except once, and we have had a couple without children seated with us even though we had a baby and toddler. They asked to be moved to another table and it was no problem.

Thank you all! My only fear is that we would be seated with a young family who tried to get the early seating (because they know their kids can't stay up that late and are cranky)and they got stuck with the late seating.....Seeing those kids sleeping on the dinner chairs breaks my heart.
I think I'm going to "wait and see" who we are seated with, sitting with another couple could be fun.

Nope-4 cruises, always a table of 8 and have never had children at our table. We still keep in touch with the folks we met on these cruises. Great fun, very nice people. Guess we've been lucky.
