We're seasoned DCL folks, but we've never cruised with a 9 month old! Any hints, must dos, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Our oldest was a year old and drinking almond milk when she first cruised, so I'm planning on lots of diapers/wipes/outfits, etc. I'm familiar with the nursery, but I'm not familiar with bottles/breastmilk/etc in the nursery. Do I need to put the expressed milk in a bottle for her--thus needing multiple bottles for multiple feedings that she's in the nursery, or can I provide one bottle with the expressed milk in storage bags?

Best to store expressed milk in the fridge? Should I just ask for a bucket of ice each day?

Thank you!

Each ship might be different, but on the Fantasy they wanted expressed milk in individual bottles and any not consumed in a feeding they immediately tossed (they’d give you back a full bottle if they didn’t use it, but once they started a feeding that milk was done). We only gave them what we knew she’d drink and didn’t drop off any “just in case” bottles). They’ll refrigerate it in the nursery and they have warmers.

We put in a special needs request for a room fridge similar to those with refrigerated medicine needs to ensure we got a good fridge that was cold enough for breast milk. It worked great.

I will say nursing on the veranda was SO nice and calm.

Thank you for the info! We're still trying to figure out exactly how much she eats in a feeding (she only gets a bottle twice a week), so hopefully we'll figure that out in the next two months  . Is the special needs request similar to the one for food allergies?

Normally, no adult non-DCL crew members are allowed into the nursery during secured hours. The exception is breast-feeding mothers. So, if you’d rather go to the nursery and nurse the child than leave a bottle, you are welcome to do that.
