Cruising, Wining, and Disney Dining - Two 2012 PTRs in One! **TR LINK UP**

I have heard about the no rope drop thing at DHS now...such a bummer. Does anyone know if they still have a rope drop (no show) for an EMH morning?

We saw Fantasmic for the first time on our last trip. I didn't mind the sitting around (I had my chocolate cake from our CS meal with me to snack on) since we had never done it before. The show was nice, but I think we'll wait until Cole is older until we go again. That exit "hallway" is terrible!!! It's so narrow, everyone is walking super slow (NYers don't do super slow when it comes to walking), it's hot...yuck! I can't even imagine trying to go get my stroller from the parking area and then fight those crowds. No thanks!

Apparently they don't! I'm just finding this out now!

I hate to tell you Kimmy but I went to a NKOTB vs BSB softball game on Sunday and BSB got their butts kicked!

Crazy that they are doing the soft opening of the park now! I kinda like it though.

Lol about the softball game. Guess we can't win 'em all. How fun that they did that! I want to see pics!! I guess I could go see stalk you on fb lol

Hope the Hershey concert was fun!
I've driven to DHS a few times and the parking lot is very close to the entrance-- nothing like the MK. I'd definitely drive-- and like others said, aim to get there in order to ride TSMM during early opening.

The concert was a blast!

I'm definitely leaning toward driving after reading all of these comments.

That would have been awesome!!! Hopefully they are still doing this pixiedust:

I'm in the non-fan club for Fantasmic! too...well, like you guys said, it's the waiting that gets to me. I hate sitting around for so long for the show and then getting trampled on when trying to exit the theatre. I think the show itself is nice, but it's one of those ones that I don't feel I have to see every time.

Fantasmic just doesn't do anything for me. The first time I saw it the person I was with made such a big deal out of it, I think I was expecting more. I left like 'That was it?' :confused3 I'd rather watch Wishes & Illuminations any day.

NJ-ers don't do slow walking either! Speaking of that, the people that stop dead center while you're trying to walk drive me crazy too. I always roll my eyes and say 'great place to stop.' I'm such a little peach. :rotfl:

Nick Carter never showed! I think he was partying with the Wanted and just blew it off. :rotfl: If I were a BSB fan going to see that, I would've been mad! I see you saw my pictures on FB. LOL at your comment about Jay's shirt. I thought the same thing!

Hahaha....I do the same thing! I give them a dirty look and usually say something snotty. Tony doesn't like it when I do that. But seriously, why would you stop in the middle of a walkway when you clearly know there are people behind you?! I always "pull over" if we need to stop, look at a map (don't really need to do that anymore but Madison likes to), etc.

Same here! Just take a few extra steps to the side if you need to stop. No need to block everyone's path. People drive me nuts! :rotfl:

Yeah well I learned long ago that the Backstreet Boys promising to never break my heart was all a lie!! They don't come to CO, they don't show up at softball games, etc. They are lucky my love runs so deep.

Hi everyone! 5 weeks from tomorrow we will be in Walt Disney World! Can you believe it? Time for a daily plans update but first I thought I'd post my pictures from last weekend's MixTape festival in Hershey, PA.

I left work around 1:30-2 and we got to Hershey around 4:30. It was mayhem. With the outlet center, the park & Chocolate World, plus a concert going on there were people EVERYWHERE. I've never seen it like that. We had to park far, far away and were lucky enough to catch the tram that took us the rest of the way to the stadium. We walked in just after 5 where the Dan Band was playing. They were comical but we didn't pay much attention to them. We went directly toward the food & beer vendors ;) Our tickets said we had seats and there were two little sections of of chairs set up which absolutely no one was sitting in so we joined the GA crowd to wait for the Wanted. There were two stages at either end of the field and they alternated sets; as soon as one stage ended, the other stage began. So we stood in GA for the Wanted and had to wait 30 minutes for the Ready Set to finish at the opposite stage. Then it was time for the Wanted! I'm a big fan :) I love me some boy bands. :rotfl:

This was during the Coldplay medley which was probably my least favorite part of the set. I can't stand Coldplay. Sorry to any fans.

After their set (they ended with Glad You Came of course) Carly Rae Jepsen started up at the other end. I've heard her song 18432985 times so I had no real urge to see her. We noticed a bus parked off to the side of the stage and who should be sitting outside it but the Wanted! There were about 50 or so fans gathered by the barracade so they came out to greet everyone. I managed to snag a picture with 3 out of the 5.

Me & Tom - way close up because the setting was zoomed to the stage & my sister couldn't figure out how to zoom out.

I like those guys. They're great to their fans and pretty comical. They just look like they're always having a blast on stage. They're fun to watch.

Up next. LL Cool J. It's a sin that people only know this guy as an actor. He was great!

He closed out with 'Knock You Out.' Love that song! It's been a long time since I last heard that.

After LL Cool J, we ran across the field for 98 Degrees. That's right. 98 Degrees. They reunited specifically for this concert. I forgot how many of their songs I knew. They sounded great and the Lachey brothers are still as handsome as they were 10 years ago. ;)

Then it was time to run back across the field for NKOTBSB. Sadly my camera's battery was on it's last legs for the night and I only managed to get two pictures of them.

They were awesome as usual. I've seen NKOTB about 10 times since 2008 so I know to expect a fantastic show going in. They didn't disappoint. PLUS they pulled the Wanted up on stage and sung Glad You Came with them and welcomed back 98 Degrees. I hope they do another MixTape Festival next year. We had an amazing time and I'd love to go again! This time for both days!

The boys closed out the weekend by hosting a softball game the following. NKOTB vs BSB. NKOTB won 9-4 thanks to a triple homer from Mr. Donnie Wahlberg. We stopped at Chocolate World for some candy (MOB SCENE) before heading home. And there you have MixTape Festival!

Next post will be a plans update!

Day 4 - 10/3

So this is definitely one of the more relaxed days of our trip. Since I'm a TA one perk from Disney are two free 2 day park hoppers plus water park passes. We're taking advtange of that this trip and hitting up a waterpark today! I'm thinking we'll sleep in as much as we can, grab breakfast at Mara, and head over to Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon. We haven't decided yet which one. We probably won't until that day. I've been to Typhoon Lagoon twice and Kris hasn't been to either so I'm leaving it up to him which one he wants to try first. We never spend a lot of time in waterparks and the Disney WPs are never really that crowded so I'm thinking we'll spend 3 maybe 4 hours here tops. When we come back to the resort, I'm thinking we'll have some time to grab a drink and hang out by the pool before we head off to....

Ohana! We have an ADR for 8PM. There is no MNSSHP this day and Wishes are at 9 so fingers crossed for a table by the window! Ohana is our favorite restaurant and we're really looking forward to this meal. We tend to stuff ourselves silly. I have to make sure I leave room for a Lapu Lapu! Kris is vowing not to eat a single thing the whole day until we get to Ohana so he has room for all that food. :rotfl:

Epcot has PM EMH this night so depending on when we get done with dinner we may go over there for a bit. We'll see how we feel!

And that's day 4!

36 days to go!!! :hyper: It's so close!

Great pics of the concert! Sadly, I do not share your love of boy bands. Please don't hate me! I have 2 songs by The Wanted on my ipod and I was an NSYNC girl growing up. Still waiting on that comeback, but I HIGHLY doubt it will happen. I guess I'll just have to wait for Justin Timberlake to come out with his next album. Sigh. I did see a New Kids on the Block concert when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I also had a Jordan doll, sheets, pins, a sweater....just not into them anymore I guess.

I haven't been to a Disney water park since my trip in 2006. We love water rides, but it will probably be a few years until we get back. I can't imagine taking Cole to a water park. Yikes!

Ahhh! A Water Park! For FREE!! Even better!! I've actually never been to a Disney Waterpark. I grew up going to Wisconsin Dells and Noah's Ark was the best!!

I'd love to go to a Disney one sometime but I don't think this will be the trip for it!

And 'Ohana.... oh how I have questioned going there.... I think I am going to pass though. The only thing I really want it the Bread Pudding lol!

That music festival sounded awesome! I was a huge boy band fan growing up, so NKOTB and 98 Degrees would have had me going there, but LL Cool J would have been neat to see as well. Not so big on the new boy bands, but only because I prefer to listen to rock music versus that now, but when it comes to the boy bands of old () I would totally go see them for nostalgic value. :thumbsup2

I'm actually kind of excited to do a water park now that we've decided to add that option to our tickets. I'm only worried it might be a bit chilly, but it is Florida, and chilly there is probably still fairly warm to me, the Canadian :rotfl:

It all sounds great so far though! :thumbsup2

it takes your brain about 15 to 20 minutes to recieve the signal that you are full...so once you start eating juts go gang busters and eat as much as you can till you get that signal.:thumbsup2

It was definitely a blast from the past. I feel like NKOTB inducted the Wanted into official boy band status. :rotfl: I listen to a mix of almost everything. The Wanted songs are catchy & they've turned me into a big fan but two of my favorite bands of all time are U2 and the Beastie Boys so go figure!

It won't be chilly! Maybe to people who live in Florida but not to us. Plus the water is heated!

I think I saw that place on the travel channel once. It was some program about the USA's best waterparks.

Ohana is fantastic! You should try it sometime.

I loved NSYNC! I was always an NSYNC girl. But because of Justin Timberlake trying to be an actor I doubt a reunion will ever happen. I bet you NKOTB goes after them next year for MixTape Festival. I'm pretty sure they had a hand in getting 98 Degrees to reunite.

I can't wait to hit up the waterparks! It's been about 3 years since I've been to a Disney WP.

Hi guys!

A super quick update to say - OUR TRIP IS PAID OFF! (Why isn't the dancing banana in my sidebar anymore?) I emailed Lynn to give her all the info and she text me this morning to tell me it was taken care of. Originally we were planning to use Disney gift cards to pay it off but we had so many & it would have been really tedious for her. Since we have the Disney Visa now we used that plus a $150 gift card so we can earn some points toward our next Disney trip :) The money I have in my Disney fund will cover the CC charge and I'll just use the gift cards on vacation for spending plus whatever cash I save between now & then. I have $555 worth of gift cards after all is said & done. I have a feeling most of that is going toward the F&W carts. ;)

34 days to go!!!

I must admit, I've seen quite a few of the movies JT has been in....love them! However, I've seen him in concert twice and would love to see him again. (well, 3 times since I saw NSYNC once in concert). He puts on a great show!

LOVE the water parks! I need to get to TL to ride the Crush N Gusher! It wasn't there the last time I was....I was 15!

I saw NSYNC once and JT when he toured with Christina Aguilera. I don't dislike him but I don't love him either.

Crush N Gusher is SO fun! I always go on more than once. That's got to be one of my favorite water slides anywhere.

:woohoo: That must feel wonderful to have the trip paid off!! Since mine is not a package I will be paying as I go once I get there but I have ALMOST enough in Disney GC's to cover what I THINK it will cost.

I am planning to use our Disney Visa Rewards for the F&W booths. I have about $450 in rewards right now!

I love boy bands! But you knew that...I would've loved to see 98 Degrees. OH MAN. How wonderful. I hope they continue doing it enough so I can go one day. Still gotta get a real one of those job things...:confused3
I can't wait to hear about your water park day. I love water parks. I have been dying to go to one of Disney's but I'm waiting until Landon is older still. I'm sure he would still enjoy it if we went now, but I wouldn't as much because I'd be more stressed. So I shall live vicariously through you. As usual. :rotfl:

Congrats on paying it all off!! THAT'S AMAZING! What an awesome feeling. I don't have the banana either. :confused3
