Cruising towards 10 days of fun... a July/Nov 2012- & We're BACK!!! Pg.50-51

I remembered you talking about that cruise on FB. It does look like fun. I agree with you about possibly leaving Christopher with Melody's parents. If it is an option, I would use it. There really isn't much for a baby on cruise ships(they aren't even aloud in the pools). Plus, I know when I had DD, by the time she was 6months old my son was really missing me. He understood, as I'm sure Ana does, but he still really wanted some "Jack time".

You mentioned touring plans for Nov. I have looked at them. The weekends are going to be crowded(9 out of 10) but during the week looks great. I think I'm only going to make a few ADR's. The family doesn't like to be tied down to them:sad2:. So, I will make 2 or 3 for Meadow and I ( probably H&V, CP, and maybe a princess one) then maybe 1 breakfast( Cape May maybe) and 1 dinner for the rest of the week. I'm also going to look into a private Illuminations desert party for maybe the 10th. We will be celebrating my niece's 10th birthday and Meadow's 3rd while we are there.

I can deal with it being busy on Sat (11/3) I don't think we are going to a park that day. I think our first park day will be (11/4). Sounds like you have a plan! Any PTR in your future? :confused3 ;)

And so far from the looks of it, it's just the F&WF craziness on the weekends at Epcot that are driving up the numbers, the other parks should be a bit lower/more bearable.

So I hopped on the DCL website and the prices have gone up... I guess they are filling up the ship. popcorn::

I noticed that today! Ours went up a bit as well.

I am very excited for you guys!! This cruise is a perfect way to celebrate Juliana being cancer FREE! :yay:

I truly CANNOT believe you started this the day I LEFT for Disney World. My feelings are deeply hurt that I am way on Page 5. :sad1:

I'll be back later to catch up.

Don't worry Kathy. Tim heard about.

Don't worry Kathy. Tim heard about.

Thanks, Dawn.

Well, Tim, since I adore your children and I had a LOVELY surprise in the mail today, I decided to read your PTR.

As a five-year survivor myself, you know how thrilled I am for Princess Ana. And what a very special way to celebrate this very special occasion. And, you already know, i'm thrilled about the Disney trip (and still play8ing with our dates and maybe doing November).

What?!? When did you start this and why wasn't I told about it?!?

I didn't even know you still DISed! :rotfl2:

I was shocked to see this considering you haven't finished your last TR. :rolleyes1
errrrr...... :confused3

At least I got here within the first few pages.
:welcome: Millie!!!! Thanks for joining!!! :goodvibes

Oops my bad, you did finish your last TR!
HAHA!!!!! :thumbsup2

I'd say it'll be brill. I so want to go on a cruise again. Momma wants to go to New York again so I said I'd go with her on condition she does a disney cruise from New York :littleangel: Gotta have disney on the trip somewhere.
That would be awesome if you hit NYC and a Disney cruise too! :wizard:

Are you planning on another trip soon?

Joining in! Congrats on Juliana being cancer free for 5 years!:cheer2:
:welcome: Carey! Thanks for reading!!!!! :goodvibes

I don't know where the last 5 years have gone but we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. :wizard:

I think we will stay away from Epcot on the weekend. ::yes::

I noticed that today! Ours went up a bit as well.
Oh well... I guess we will stick with the interior room. It is only 2 nights and we are only gonna be in there to sleep. :goodvibes

I am very excited for you guys!! This cruise is a perfect way to celebrate Juliana being cancer FREE! :yay:
Thanks Brook!!!! We are really excited! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Well, it wasn't planned but I did PM you. You telling me you don't check PMs while you are in Disney? :lmao::lmao:

Actually, it was good that I started while you were away. Then you wouldn't be nagging me to update!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Don't worry Kathy. Tim heard about.
I know.. thanks! :headache::headache:

Thanks, Dawn.
Oh great. Now Dawn is one of 'you'? I have to have her 'yelling' at me now too? :confused3:lmao:

Well, Tim, since I adore your children and I had a LOVELY surprise in the mail today, I decided to read your PTR.
Oh guess what. We found the Christmas picture yesterday! I'll pop one of those to you too! :thumbsup2

I am so happy for you! That 5 year mark means a lot! :grouphug:

Hummm... I thought you were all set with September/October? :confused3

One good thing about a 2 day cruise to nowhere is since there are no stops, you don't have to book any excursions. You just hang out in the sun drinking a cocktail with your feet in the pool. (can you even do that on a Disney cruise?) I have tried to research DCL and what we are going to do on the ship. From what I have read there are usually a ton of activities. So how do we choose? I'm sure after dinner on Friday we will goto a show then who knows? Maybe there will be a party outside or something??? Knowing Juliana, on Saturday she will be up by 7. I think we would go eat breakfast then come back to the room to get our bathing suits on and head outside to see what was going on.

We found out that there will not be a pirate night which we are kinda bummed about. But we did request the first seating and two dining rooms:

On Friday night, we requested Animator's Palate- http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/magic/dining/animators-palate/

And on Saturday night we requested Lumiere's- http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/magic/dining/lumieres/

All you Disney cruise experts... is there something that you know of that we SHOULDN'T miss on a Disney cruise?

Animators is so wonderful....Ana is going to love how the room changes!

you will get a schedule each night for the next day....

we went on a 7 day so will be different, but this is what we had and enjoyed

character meet and greets
character breakfast
pirate party - bummer you won't get that
tea party with Wendy
family dance parties
the shows are WONDERFUL!!
fireworks
mickey pool - megan lived in that, she loved the slide too!

we made Megan a deal....as long as she ate a good, healthy breakfast she could eat whatever else she wanted...think she lived on french fries and ice cream for her other meals and snacks!

you will definately feel the Disney Magic and get all the great service

The Animators Palette looks so cool! I've never been on a Disney cruise before, but on the cruise that I have been on, there was absolutely no lack of drinks, especially around the pool area!

I don't see how there would be a problem having a cocktail with your feet in the pool. I've never been on DCL, so I'm not sure I can offer any advice, but it is my understanding that you can carry your own drinks on to the ship. I'd make sure to pack some Yuengling. I'm sure that will be cheaper than buying on board.:thumbsup2 :lmao:

As far as the cruise goes, I'd say make sure Juliana checks out the kids clubs. They have some really cool stuff in there. Also, there is a game you can play with the interactive art around the ship, sort of a detective game. Ask a CM where you get started with that.

Thanks! I wanted to have some kind of plan ahead of time. But I guess I won't know exactly what's going on till we get on the ship.

Sounds really fun! I don't know how we are going to be able to do all this in 48 hours. I guess we won't sleep. :lmao:

Now that is a great deal!!!! :thumbsup2

I am sad I can't get Juliana all excited about it. Maybe I'll pop in the old DCL DVD I have just to show her what a Disney cruise is like.

We've cruised on Carnival and Norwegian before... they are usually handing you drinks the second you walk on board.:lmao:

I've read you can carry your own bottles on board. I really don't plan on drinking that much. Probably have a wine or beer with dinner and probably a tropical drink or 2 during the day. If I want Yuengling, I'll have to stop in NY to get it since they don't sell it in CT. :headache::headache:

That sounds like a great idea!!!! Maybe once we get on board and get settled in we can do the game. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the idea!

I was a lurker on your last trip report, but I've decided to finally to say hi.

Your family is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing them and your love for Disney with all of us.

Your cruise looks like so much fun and your reason for taking it is fantastic! You all deserve it!!

Merci

She should love the kids clubs. And bring a princess dress for dinner

Animator's Palate is so fun. There is so much to do it is mind boggling. I told DH about your cruise to nowhere and we were both in agreement that DCL is definitely the cruise line to do that on. When we went on the Wonder they had tons of meet and greets, dance parties, shows, movies. And then in the kids club there were so many activities like cooking, movies, science and tons of other stuff.

Tim, those two places for meals look awesome. And I can't think of anything much better than putting my feet in the water and having an adult beverage or two. :goodvibes

I can't wait to see all of your cruise pictures. Its an aspect of Disney travel that I know very little about, but it looks so cool. :thumbsup2

That would be awesome if you hit NYC and a Disney cruise too! :wizard:

Are you planning on another trip soon?

Maybe :rolleyes1

If we don't do the NYC one I might go solo to a certain world and it might just happen to be end of Octo/beginning of Nov that I am looking at. I mainly because I want to go to MNSSHP again and then see the MVMCP decorations all in the one trip :rotfl: It's all in very early discussions and decisions yet though.

A NYC cruise for you would be expensive... plus you'd have to fly cross country. I'm sure that would add a few bucks to the bottom line. :teacher:

Well the flights wouldn't necessarily be any more than to Orlando and I personally thought K would be ALL over NYC (as would the E's) but it held no interest for Jeff. For some reason the idea of looking at the east coast on the way down just didn't wow him. Didn't help when my mom, who did a cruise out of NY told him that was a very boring part (to her). :rotfl: He really wants to be interested in the landscape on the at sea days. Alaska was easy for us for that reason, no flight and great scenery!

You will get a Navigator each day (like a little newspaper) that tells you what the activities are. I can't recall on the first day, maybe it was on the bed? They will drop it off before bed, for the next day so you can plan. I have no idea how they will structure it on a 2 night one though.

Great dinner requests, Ana will love Animators!!!! I can't speak to drinking while toes are in the pool but I can to actually having a drink IN the pool. :rotfl: And the hot tub. :rotfl: Then again, that was at the adult pool so...you may have to go to your lounge chair and enjoy whatever the Drink of the Day is (or whatever you brought on board with you!).

I was a lurker on your last trip report, but I've decided to finally to say hi.
:welcome: thanks for coming out of lurkdom!!!!! :lmao:

Thank you for the kind comments! :goodvibes

I am really looking forward to this trip! I know Juliana will love it. :goodvibes

Should she wear a princess dress to dinner? I never even thought of that. I guess I need to start a list.... :rolleyes1

I know we are going to have a ton to do... I think I am starting to get scared that the 2 day isn't long enough. OK- I know it isn't long enough but I hope there is time to see the ship and experience a lot of different activities.
